time for my car
so i went to island on sunday during the old days drags and ran my car in test and tune. i couldnt drive it though due to some "complications". i followed my dads friend in his 56 ford out there.
well my car ran a 14.28 at 102 with a 2.5 60 ft.
that 60 foot if you compare it to the excursion slip is almost the same. needless to say my car has some traction issues. going on thursday to get slicks. then i just need some gears. watching my car with me not driving it was kind of dissapointing. but theres gonna be other days. and my car was spinning tires in 2nd gear and to almost the 330 line

yea, traction issues for sure. What gears are in it now?
I would pick up a set of drag radials instead of slicks (unless you are getting them cheap and used).

i saw the car there, i thought it was funny cause a 2nd gen was probably the newest car racing other than me ![Laughing](http://www.njfboa.org/forums/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif) but it definitely looked really nice!
im thinking the complications were probably he was a 17 year old driver wtihout dad there to sign the paperwork? just said he followed dads friend.

your mph shows some great potential for the car.. my 79 with a zz4, th400, reverse manual valve body, 3400 stall converter and 4.10s ran low 13s at barely 100 mph

102mph is good for a mid-low 13 with a decent launch

considering how bad it spun last time, i woudl say there will still be improvement. actualy may act a little different in the second half of the track, with tires that tall it may not need to shift into 3rd. that would be some time saved as well.

well these were on a t/a before no problem with backspacing (2nd gen). and yes i know the 28 inch tall tire wont help my gearing, it will only make it worse, but i got the slicks while i had the chance. at least i wont spin until the about the 330 any more like i did with my 225/75/15 bfg's.
