Wrote my essay for stockton

tell me what ya think 8)

Walking around Richard Stockton’s campus a few months back with my family and a couple friends I was taken back. I looked around and said to myself, this is where I want to be in the fall. What else amazed me was the students’ attitude, they all seemed just as excited to be there as I was. The present students knew I was a visitor, but I saw nothing but nice greetings from them.
My current high school is very close; I’ve been going to school with my fellow students ever since I was in kindergarten. Stockton is the same way, just on a bigger scale. I know a few people who are going to Stockton in the fall; these are the same friends I’ve had since I was 5 years old. Having friends who will be going to the same college as me will make the transition much easier. This transition will be a new thing for me since I’ve lived in Ewing all my life, but it is something I am eagerly looking forward to.
It is getting tougher and tougher in the job market to land a great job without an equally great education. Stockton’s education is nationally known and ranked. It would be great to be a part of this well-known attribute. One thing that really turned me on to Stockton was the low student to teacher ratio, not many schools have a student to teacher ratio below 20:1. This leaves the students with more opportunities to communicate directly with their professors instead of en masse. I have heard horror stories of schools with student to teacher ratios of 30:1 or even more. At that point the ratio is just ridiculous, and every student is just another face in the crowd. This is exactly what I did not want in a school, I prefer when I’m not referred to as a number.
In closing, at Stockton I do not only want to better my education, I also want to better myself. I have chatted with a few students while I was visiting and they all said Stockton is the only place they would want to be. They also said the professors weren’t just their teachers, they over time became friends. The student and teacher body came off to me as a huge family, the kind of family that I would want to be welcomed into.
