That sounds like quite a plan, and you can grab a thirdgen for $200 easy. Good starter car. Start browsing sites and put together a price list for all the work the car needs, and then spend every last penny leftover on a killer motor.

			How about an Opti...
 Oh wait.

Id find an old 5.0 Mustang (they were quick off the bat) and with 7k in upgrades (turbo or supercharger, whatever your posion) you should be good to go.

 | ok ok ok...find me my rear suspension | Don't have time to shop for exact parts/prices....

moser 12, LCA relo brackets, rod-ended LCAs, bmr track pack, eibach drag launch springs, lakewood 50/50 (or any adjustables that you want), and a panhard if you want (don't think it will help the launch).

Sound good?

yea sounds good but i already did the setup myself...ended at 9500 bucks with a 450 n/a motor running a 450 shot(150 off the line then 300 out a couple feet) spent the last 500 on wheelie bars just to rub it in 8)

for the amount of money, i think that would work. Especially for the 5 minute time span i had, and didnt get a chance to research anything. Now only if this were a possibility and real, it would be fun, but dunno how strong that motor would run.

you can actually find a used miata and do a small block conversion on teh cheap. figure a liata weighs about 2600, figure 2800 with a typical iron headed small block in it. add a few "little" thing like nitrous and some beefier drive line parts and you are lookin at an easy 9second car if you cna get it to hook.

I hate to say it, but a fox body is the cheapest way to go fast. the market is flooded with crap for them. You can buy a 427 short block for 3 grand. Or you could buy a 418 long block for $6700 that makes 650 HP and 575 tq courtesy of coast high performance. toss in a C6 tranny for 875 bucks http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...971703399&rd=1 . Assume you bought the fox for as much as I did, 800 bucks. Now, you gut the car and sell everything off. you've just made back about 500 so the car really only cost you 300. so far were only up to $7875. grab a spool for under a hundred. I'll volunteer to fabricate a cage and subframe connectors for free, just to keep costs down. I'll even reinforce the torque boxes in the rear or the car. home made boxed control arms. Race seat off ebay for 61 bucks. we have roughly two grand to work with. used nitrous set up for, lets say 600 bucks. 1400 left. I smell 9 inch! Youd probably have a little more money left, so you could put some slicks on the draglites that came on my car 8)

Youd probably have a little more money left, so you could put some slicks on the draglites that came on my car 8) | What about mandatory 3" cowl hood? | since I'm using my car as the example, it already came with it 8)
