Just an observation
When I was young lets say a freshman in HS, their was someone in our school who was a senior who had a beautifull Z28. At the time he was dating one of the best looking girls in our grade at the time. When I was young and easily influenced, I came under the impression that the guys with the hottest cars got the best girls!
From that day I believed that the F-body to me would help me score with so many girls!
In reality It did nothing! It only prevented me from meeting girls and keeping them interested since I was alittle obsessed with my own cars.
When I met my first GF, my Trans Am wasnt even running yet. We dated for an entire year, and strangly enough the peak of our relationship was when the Trans Am's 305 took a **** on me and was parked at the top of my garage for 5 months! When I finally got it running at the end of the summer going into October, my relationship with my GF was at an all time low eventually ending in november of 2003.
I went for an entire year to 2004 without being with any girls at all, it was just me and my Trans Am (350) I finally sold it in October when I recieved my 1995 Camaro, I had a boost of confidence thinking it would help me out tons with the girls, when actually it did no better then with the Trans Am.
Now fast forward to August of this year, I had met this girl at a party and we talked for a bit, and eventually met eachother again. We started chatting online alot, as well as talking on the phone. We arranged to hang out when she was back in town. Now at the time my Camaro was at TTP waiting for work. She came to town and we hung out every day she was here! It was one of the most amazing weekend in my life, and I didnt even have my car! She came back the next weekend and thats when I told her how I felt about her, and I thought I had met the most amazing girl in my life. I finally got my car back from TTP and the transmission took a crap on me so It was grounded. She was home for the entire week and we hung out every time we could, and I eventually asked her to be my Girlfriend, and she gladly accepted. I was so happy!
Just recently reflecting over the past amazing weekends I relized, I didnt use my car one bit to meet her. It came up in convo's rarely but it was pushed into the back of my head as "unimportant" And I relized I dont need my car to meet amazing people! I was just being me, and the girl Loved that.
The moral of the story is this : Your car does not make you!
I just needed to vent alittle, because this week I dont get to see my girlfriend, and I probably wont be able to see her for another 2 months, and my car is gone so I have plenty of time to think....

So........ someone is... growing up????
You learned that cars are not that important...... sure they are fun..... but don't focus 100% of your life.
Get away from the car...... go out.... meet people...... if you come across a girl (or whatever you like) focus on the other person and NOT the car!!!!
BTW, I met my lady... cause she likes SEXY NEONS!! (she is gonna kick my ass for that comment.... ... but she is in class now and won't see this for a bit!!)

I was supposed to visit her at her school this weekend (my huge birthday weekend that I took 3 days off of work for) but she is pledging and it got in the way bigtime. So Im going to suck it up and wait untill Thanksgiving.
But yeah, my cars not around and no girl so Im thinking too much. I just kinda found this really Ironic. GF's came when the cars were not around. Part of me doesnt even care when I get my car back

The car is just a bonus... I've gotten laid plenty of times without the help of my car, however it has helped here and there
Besides, if a chick wants you just for the car you drive.... you should keep on driving. Seriously.

That sux man....where does she go to school?
I feel you on the being away from her part big time. I used to go to school near Pittsburgh and dated a girl from Erie. Summers were not the best of times....

If you have a "passion" for your car or cars in general and she absolutely thinks cars are no fun and just for transportation, you're in for a rocky relationship. I was with the same girl for 7 years and she absolutely hated my truck. Yes, I did spend a lot of time and money on it, but at the same time I spent lots of time and money on her. It got to the point where she claimed I didn't love her and I should just have a relationship with my truck. While this was ridiculous and immature, it became something she said all the time. Here I am almost a year later ( with no GF) and life is grand. I can go to the track whenever I want and I don't have to feel guilty about it. My truck doesn't bitch about everything, doesn't care if I " drive another truck", and so on. I miss not having to chase "it", but hell that's part of the fun.
Moral: Both vehicles and woman cost a lot to maintain. My truck never once said " hey quit racing me and go home to cater to your GF"....Vehicles don't bitch at you and complain about everything you do. Truck 1 / Ex-Gf 0.
That being said, Good luck, Alex. I hope you never have to go through what I did.

From a girl's standpoint, well, I'm into cars, so cars are a bonus. but forget about girls like me for a second.
the other girls i know just dont see the point in "egos and cars". if she cant talk to you about cars, and enjoy it, she doesn't want to be around you. she wants a guy with different priorities, like her. and her. and her and coach bags you buy her. She sees you are too engrossed in cars, and thinks you'd have no time for someone like her. and well. you don't. so oh well.
but i also know the kinds of girls who like seeing a guy with a nice car. but not for the speed or the work you put into it. but for the money you paid for it. these women only want you cuz you look like you have money to buy her more coach bags. and these cars are BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and new ricer models like the new eclipse, or cars like the Mustang. Girls love mustangs. (except me.) and the drivers of these cars, well, a lot of them are the type of guy who will buy her a coach bag, to make her shut up, or because he doesn't care. These drivers, are nothing like any of you, which is a good thing.
So be glad you havent met any of those girls. or have you?...

haha, no she likes my car, even thought shes only seen it parked in my driveway She understands the ego part as well. She just gigles and will say "someday we can take it for a drive". So This girl understands, when shes not around I spend money on my car, when shes around I spend more time & money with her That way I can truely keep faithfull. Messing around with the car = less time messing with other girls.
Her mom works for Car & Driver, and she also Interns for them in the summer Im happy with what she knows.
I got that whole, love your car spheel with my ex & the trans am, and the girl went, I was happy with the trans am for alittle while.
In the end it will work out I think.

didnt read any other responces but im gonna say this. You dont need a car to "get women" all you need is a mouth and some CONFIDENCE. Go up and talk to them - its all it takes. Sure if you give me a Ferrari all the gold diggers will be throwing their panties at me, its a good thing for one night deal. However you prolly wont find a girl you looking for if you just relying on your car. So you need a pair of balls not a car to "get women"
/thread.

Fieros are only cool cars if they look like other expensive cars.
