B&M Ripper vs. Pro 5.0 vs. Hurst?

It's as simple as the question above.
Which do you guys prefer for a t-56?

pro's and con's of each etc...

i have a pro 5.0 with an inch cut off....wouldnt trade it for anything...shifts are precise and you know what gear youre attempting to slam it into, no more 1-2-1 or 1-2-5 8)...and the throws are sooo much shorter

Now I hit every gear with percision, and I have grown to live with the stock shifter. Â*Money is tight, but Im probably going to dish out the cash for the Pro 5.0 base & Lous Short Stick when I get my tax returns next year. (Looks like my car is getting garaged this winter)

I defenitly plan on hitting up a track when the weather clears. Â*Id like to get in as many runs as possible as well. Â*But Im not sure if I can pass tech missing a wheel stud.

I've felt a hurst before on a t-5 (84HOtransam) and I liked the way it felt.
But I've heard bad reviews for the t-56 hurst. A lot of people seem to like the Pro 5.0.

 Another problem is finding it.

Anyone know of any sites where I can find the Pro 5.0 or a Hurst?

Jegs has the 5.0 but they want 200 for it I'm sure there is a cheaper place and Hurst I just haven't been able to find.

Best place to find a Pro 5.0 is the classifieds on LS1Tech...They go for under $150 there all the time.

Thunder Racing has them for $179.99 Pro 5.0 & B&M Ripper.
I got a Pro 5.0 in my car with the Lous Short Stick on it, its great, its really short throws and never miss a gear, its solid, I would recommend it.

$215 With all you need, the Pro-5.0 Base & Lous Short Stick all in one package, then you dont need to buy it all seperatly, and have an extra stick laying around.

I had the Hurst and didn't like the feel, shifts felt sloppy to me. I switched to the B+M ( mine is older and has the stops/jam nuts - new ones do not ). Anywho, The ripper is 7 years old with no problems.
Don't know if the newer version are the same, but with my ripper is it an 18mm thread and B+M makes no race style shifter balls/handles for it? You have to use either stock ball = which sits a bit high on the shifter so you loose some of the short throw feel. Other options are a hurst ball or an exspensive aftermarket billet handle. I have the hurst T-handle which makes the throw feel allot crisper to me, but then I've been using those handles for almost 20 years.

I have a B&M Ripper in the black car. Adjustable stops, VERY solid feel, smooth, but somewhat long throws. No real complaints.
In the purple car I have a 01 factory Hurst shifter. As it came from the factory, it had short throws, but the shifter felt notchy because the stick itself was flimsy. I later put a UMI Performance short stick in it, and that made a HUGE difference. REALLY short throw now, solid, and quick. It's a hell of a setup and should only run you about $100 overall for a used setup like that.

i am running stock hurst with UMI short stick. just bought a B&M and am gonna cut it and install it this weekend. i love the placement of the UMI stick but the hurst is way too notchy for me. its plenty precise too. i'll try the B&M and if i dont like it ill just switch back to the hurst with UMI
