RANTING...(Long...Dont enter if you dont wanna hear it)
Here goes my ranting on tonights activities
So tonight me and a bunch of my friends from Rowan were going to United Artist in twp, and were taking two car loads of people over to see it. Well my friend Britt was driving behind me down Hurfville Cross Keys and the light had just turned yellow. Im halfway through the intersection and i let this guy fly through and go to make the turn. As im turning, i notice another pair of headlights approaching the intersection and they dont seem to be slowing down. I swerve to the left to have this lady just miss me by inches, and in my rear view i watch her and Britts car go headlight to headlight. Britt isnt from twp, and if she hadnt caught the light, she woulda been lost. This lady had to be doing a good 50 coming into the intersection, while Britt was doing a mere 10-15 through the turn. We rush out of the car and it turns out everyone was fine, no big injuries (although her Neon appeared to be wrecked as antifreeze poured all over the intersection). While we wait for the cops to show up, the lady manages to get her car out of the intersection and to the side of the road. As twp cops show up, this young rookie ass looking cop looks and me and my boy brad and goes "Is it safe to move the car" We look at each other, and were like "COME ON *******, THERES FLUIDS ALL OVER THE ROAD! DO YOU WANNA MOVE IT?" so he goes 'right' and walks away. Tow trucks show up, cops right reports, and at the end of it all the cop gives the ticket to Britt for failing to yield, even though that bitch was coming into the intersection at a yellow light doing at least 50-60mph. And to top it all off, she is able to drive her car away, and had two kids under the age of eight in the car with her. Stupid parents need to learn how to ****ing drive, if you have two kids, dont do 55 through an intersection at a yellow/red light. GOD it pisses me off. God damn Twp cops

that was a little confusing but what i understood from it, the cop should have taken into account the other persons speed. i dont know how that is done but whatever. best of luck to your friend britt. i hope all goes well for her. at least everyone is alright. the ticket probably isnt too bad so she should be alright. i just wish some people would be more careful. im about to post up a story myself.

well to be honest, according to "the law" its Britts fault 100%. it really doesnt matter how fast the other chick was going, she couldve been doing 300mph, it was Britt that turned in front of her. I wasnt there, i cant say but it sounds like Britt shouldve realized that she couldntve made the turn intime anyway, if you saw the car coming why didnt she? anytime you put your car in front of another car that is going in the proper direction, in their respective lane, you are at fault for whatever happens.

kinda hard to follow that story. i guess you should've calmed down some before posting it up.
if she barely missed you, why would you friend follow you through the intersection? i understand yellow lights and how no one wants to sit through one and a red light, especially if someone is following you and they might not know how to get where you are going or whatever.
the major thing is safety. that's what defensive driving is all about. screw the other person and their car - make sure YOU are the one who is safe and follow safe procedures. anytime you go through a yellow light you should be even more aware of what is going on around you. over here by me, the traffic lights can be controlled by emergency vehicles - which means if the light changes there might be an ambulance or cop coming through the intersection next. in all my years of driving i have only been involved in one traffic accident. that comes from being aware and assuming that the other driver is going to do something stupid or unsafe.
it all comes down to CYA.
sorry about your friend's car, but i am glad everyone made it through without any major injuries.

I have to agree with many of the posts, your friends was at fault as she was turning into the intersection even though the other woman was kinda douchey in driving so fast.

its not that she was driving so fast, or that my friend was at fault that really pisses me off, its that shes in her mid 30's with two kids in the car doin 60 through a yellow light, like how unsafe is that, youd think she'd take a lil more caution

If she was really going that fast, any competient cop should have been able to determine that from the accident scene. Then again, I say "competient"...
Sorry to hear cops around there are that bad. I'm around there all of the time. I'll watch myself in the future.
