I agree TGO has a great forum on that with alot of good links. What is the LT1 out of? If it was from a Corvette or if you can get all the accessories from a Corvette no mods to the frame are necesary.

3rd gen LT1 swap = unbolt gen1 sbc, drop LT1 onto same motor mounts, hook old exhaust back up, run wiring.
other than running the a/c lines(since GM changed them every year in 3rd gens) and running the new wiring/splicing into the old harness it is extremely straight forward.
the fuel lines are easy to swap over, and if you keep the whoel engine harness under the hood like 4th gens have it, the wiring is even pretty easy.
do a search in the TGO engine swap forum, any question you can think of has been asked there.

If you use Corvette accessories the swap will be strait forward. If you are using Firebird/camaro accesories the AC compressor will hit the crossmember unless you modify it. Here's another link for you to check out. www.geocities.com/texaslt1/lt1swap/swap.html

you have to notch the crossmemember if you use the camaro/firebird setup, but if you use the covette setup, no notching at all.

or...you can spend the money and get a march lt1 bracket and pulley setup. i did that for my vette, still wouldnt work like i hoped, so i ended up geting an almost new vette lt1 oem bracket for like $27. Now i have the march LT1 billet outward mount kit with dual idler pulleys sitting around with no use. Ill use it if i ever do a custom lt1 swap again.

I have an issue of Super Chevy from like 1995-96 that has an article where GM swapped an LT1 into a white RS. If you need anymore info I can dig it out.
