To top off a bad day...

So today has sucked hardcore but i'm not going to get into that. The final and probably worst thing happened after work on my way home ! I pulled into the gas station that i always go to with the car running on fumes, and proceed to ask them to fill it up. Now mind you I am at this place twice a week and know everyone except for the new guy that was on tonight. So I tell him to fill it with premium and start putzing with my cell phone... Well 2 min later I look back and see 10 gallons of regular going in. I was like wtf now i'm screwed... he appoligized and pumped the rest in 93 octane but the damage was done. Now my car runs like **** to top a already ****** day, I guess its time to go find some octane booster

/rant off

i don't think my car would start with regular gas in it.

i might've opened the petcock and let the tank drain all over his station. but you say you know most of those guys, so that might make a bad impression on the rest of them...

Thank goodness for the LG4. Purrs like a kitten on 87. Though she also drives like one too but that's the trade-off

yeah honestly...you have a high & a low octane table in your computer...when it senses ****** gas it will just hover more towards the low octane settings...you can actually view how the computer is swaying from one to the other in %. Like mike said just let it run through completely & fill up with 93/94 or whatever and be done with it. Dont sweat petty things & dont pet sweaty things.

Wow i cant tell u how many times I have gone to a gas station the the moron attendant has put regular in my tank. Once i actually got of the car and started screaming at the guy ranting on and on about how my car wont run on this crap gas and bla bla bla. I guess i really scared the guy cuz he gave me free gas next time. What you can do i use the 104 octane boost. Its the only one I've found that really works, and i reccomend it at work all the time. when gas got really expensive i used that and everything ran ok. try maybe a fuel system cleaner also. to get any crap that stuff leaves. I also did that but maybe i was just being to paranoid. I dunno i spoiled that car.

I had a guy put regular in my old supercharged 93 Z28 and it was fine. I just ran it for a week and filled up again with premium.

FYI...a car will run on almost pure octane booster. I ran out of gas in the staging lanes at etown years back(right before the water box) and had a bottle of that stuff with me, i had to add it just to get to the CAM2 pumps to get some gas. The car ran awesome on the way home that night, lol.

nope the plastic tank doesnt.... but 10 gallons of 87 and say 4-5 on 93 isnt too bad... just dont beat on the car... the knock sensors will retard timing a bit and the car will be a little sluggish... its no big deal it will be fine

I've never had a problem, but my dad had some ******* fill his diesel tank with regular gas. Luckily he looked back and saw it was the wrong handle at the pump, and didnt start the truck. He had to leave it there and have them drop the tank to drain it completely. It takes real rocket scientists sometimes.

**** this is why they should allow you to pump your own gas! i mean people are lazy but come on you can learn to do it yourself.

the thing is usually premium is $.20 more per gallon then regular so in a 15 gallon tank your talking a $3.00 difference I can only assume that stuff is $3+ per dinky thing full of it...never understood the point of throwing that in with tanks of regular when just buying premium wouldve run you the same or less money.

fwiw heres a pic of your high vs low octane tables http://mysite.verizon.net/whenn1/highlowoctane.JPG ...the knock sensors just give the computer an idea of what to do...if it starts seeing more & more KR it realizes your using ****** gas & will interpolate more to the low octane table once you throw some good gas back in it will start to go back to normal as it realizes you've got the good stuff back in it.
