good digital camera at good value?
I need a new digital camera. Right now i'm still using my "hp photosmart" with 1.0MP and 2x zoom. lol. and with all the ebay stuff im doing and will be doing. I NEED something better finally.
So what brands and models are good? I dont want too spend that much so value is a concern too. but obviously since i need a camera for making money, i will spend what is needed. Most pictures I take are about 3-5 feet away with a few every so oftem like a foot away so id need to be able to get up close detail, something which i cant do now with my current camera. Also, memory size isnt important, i never bought a memory card for my camera and just used the internal memory. After i filled it with 18 or so pics, id upload them right onto my comp and keep going. Other things id want with a new camera is the ability to power it with AC power adapter, so i dont have to rely on batteries all the time. And finally i need one that takes good pictures in low light conditions with or w/out flash.
Thanks in advance for any input/suggestions.

James has a Kodak Easy Share CX6330 that works really well. If you've seen any of our house pics ( www.bbbracing.com/house/housebeforeafter.htm) they were all taken with that camera. It's worked well. Dunno price, he got it as a gift before I was around. He loves the thing, and it's easy to use for the technologically impaired (ie James).

I have a Kodak easy share too, only its just a C330. takes great pictures, videos with sound, etc, and it was only 150 bucks. I was pretty impressed with it for the cost of it and the quality of shots. but yeah, if you want something really high tech, i'd ask melissa.

i paid around 120 for my current camera, like 4 years ago. Like i said, i need the camera for selling parts so it is basically a business expense for me and i will spend what i have to in order to get quality pictures.
so as of now, it looks like i will be shopping for a sony or a kodak...however i am very biased against sony, so...looks like it will be a kodak most likely.

Canon makes some of the best cameras, i have a powershot A85...cost me like $260 plus tax. It has macro mode for taking close up pictures. 4.0 megapixels, all kinds of adjustable settings...that was a year ago that i bought it so its probably cheaper now. Anything with "macro mode" (little flower symbol) should do well for taking closeups of stuff - anything under like 20 inches away.

Canon has some of the best quality lenses around, even in their point and shoot cameras, which is what you're looking for. Better lens = better clarity, regardless of how many mega pixels you have. Most of my research in digital cameras has been for SLR's, so I'm a little limited in what I can offer for info on these.
If you're just looking to use these pictures for the web, and dont care about print quality, you can even shop used and dont worry about these 4 or 5+ megapixel cameras, because its just a bigger picture that you're going to have to shrink down in the end anyhow.
I don't have any experience with kodak easyshare cameras, however, I do have a Sony Cybershot camera thats probably 3 or 4 years old now, and I still love it. I take that wherever I don't want to take my SLR.
Look for reviews on different cameras, check out www.dpreview.com for some reviews on cameras, along with other sites. Also shop around for the best price, but make sure you buy from someone dependable. Almost all my stuff is bought from www.bhphoto.com or www.freestylephoto.biz

I have always liked the Olympus mid-range cameras. I bought mine after using my roommate's for a while, and I'm getting ready to sell mine and buy a newwer one. Olympus cameras are usually very good in low-light conditions.
If you are interested in mine (Olympus C3040-Z) shoot me a PM.
