What can I do to clean up motor parts? I want to get gunk, carbon and everything off. I dont care If I have to disasemmble the motor to do it. Can I drop the oil pan with out it being in the car?I want to see how much crap is in their. and how much carbon is on the heads and what not.

Matt, I know you are trying to do what you think is right, but pulling your motor to clean some gunk out of it isn't the best thing for you to do.
Before you do anything else to the car, either get the wiring fixed so that you can run it the way it is, or rip all of the ECM wiring out and get a regular carb on there to use.
After the car is running, you can buy any number of things that will help clean out your motor. Most people like Seafoam engine cleaner. You can pour half a can or so into the oil, and the other half into the gas tank. I think they say to run the car for 300-500 miles with the Seafoam in the oil, and then get it changed.

After bolting up my headers today I pulled the valve covers off, and I almost threw up, it truely does look like my motor is on its last leg! The guy who I bought the car from came over and said that I have tons left in the motor and its really strong...Ill have pics tomorrow.

Put it together & run it until it explodes. Which may never happen. Just don't loosen too much stuff up.
It is a good learning experience for you.

With the seafoam stuff, there are many different ways to get it through your engine to clear out the crap. you can suck it in through a vacum line, add it to your oil, or add it to your gas. Most people i know that use it, suck it through a vacum line (1/2 - 3/4) and then add the rest to the fuel.

That engine is beyond seafoam.
Matt, just clean as much of that stuff up as you can while the valve covers are off, and then do a few quick oil/filter changes.

If you really want everything clean, take it all apart and send the block and heads to a machine shop to get hot tanked.Thats really the only way that motor is going to be completely cleaned out.
