Sounds like another chance for you to put on a clinic in an F-body. Hopefully you got your brakes all figured out. You are just lucky I can't go and show you how to carry "mad speed" into the corner. One day soon I will have my own autocross car and then we will do some real battle. You and Chris let me know if you need a hand getting ready for the race.
Later,
Ken

shouldnt you be working helpfull hints for the turning handicaped
1. make sure the seat is in a locked position
2. make sure hair is out of your eyes when racing.
3. dont listen to the 15 year old co-pilot
4. cones are your friends they tell you were to go
5. Slow in =mad speed out not mad speed in= tire eating push=SLOW.
6. 425rwhp + vegaken=9sec slower than 198esp1 +bad brakes
7. get doug to go inthe firebird you should be able to beat him.

and he was 9 seconds slower with more power and more brakes hahahaa.....it really comes down to driver skill.....and the clock don't lie

he said cones are your friend

but 198esp had his own "moment" when his brakes almost failed on the last run, sorta funny as he skidded to a stop with the E-brake cranked and everyone was like "what's wrong with this dork, is he going to stop or should we be ducking for cover?"

funtional brakes + autocross = fun for everyone

disfuntional brakes + autocross = funny for those not in harms way, downright scary for everyone else

I'm telling ya, it is a total rush.....there is little chance of hurting the car (assuming your brakes work) and you get to totally push the car to the limits of your skill and the car's ability. 45-50 seconds of hard driving that for the most part is a pure reflection of the guy behind the wheel. Everyone should try it at least once....you would not be dissapointed.

I'm gonna try and get some in-car video this time so you can see what its all about.....no promise, but I'm gonna try....Kevin bring the camera mount and secondary strap....I'll bring the camera

Chris

I will just say that neither of you have been as quick as me on the quarter mile. Just wait until I buy a car for autocross, you are both done. Sitting on a big foam cushion, milk crate size is not exactly easy to drive on. Also don't want to kill someone else's car. I will give you two a shot at the crown in a 9 second car real soon. Then we will see who is the man there. I don't think either one of you will launch a stick car at 6800rpm. And if either one of you craps there pants in my car you owe me a new seat. I say the loser next time buys the burgers at the track for the whole gang.

here's a link to one run.....I'm still screwing around with the camera/editing software. the sound might be a tic behind the video because I had to download each seperately then try sync them back up.....next one will be better quality video and sound....

but for now.....heres some giant stadium auto-x footage (bad as it may be)

cut and paste the link into your browser (i'm not a computer guy, so bear with me)
