What do you need to know? Honestly, your BEST bet is to go to the township and find out what the local codes are... but post your question, I may be able to answer it for ya.

I am totally oblivious to this area of construction so basically I wanted to know what the normal practice is for the footing and foundation on a slab type house....Basically what I was told from the twp. is to dig the footing trench 15" wide by 36" deep...Well anyway I have been getting conficting stories from a few different people as how it should be done....For instance 2 fellows told me all I have to do is pour straight cement for the footings then use cinder block for the foundation then another guy totally lost me because I am not up to date with all the construction lingo lol...But any way he totally lost me saying that you have to use pea gravel roughly an 8" slab then use cinder the rest of the way.....Basically if someone could break it down without all of the technical lingo I would appreciate it....I just want to have an idea so when the inspector comes out to inspect the trench and gives me the go ahead I'll have a better understanding as to what he is saying
(I hope)...sorry for the long drawn out post but I am tired lol.. thanks
