454ci.
Moldex 4" crank
GRP rods
venollia 4.25 pistons
Fred Brewer heads ported by Alen Johnson (top fuel crew chief for Tony Shumacker)
Fred Brewer sheet metal intake
two giant dominator carbs just had $1700 worth of work, don't know cfm
extra manifold top for one carb
titanium valves 2.25 in. 1.74ex.
triple springs
.875 nitrous roller cam with custom pushrods
T&D shaft rockers
stainless headers
Peterson multi! ple stage dry sump
crank trigger ignition
elec. Meserie water pump
front and rear motor plates
Reactor Products flexplate/flywheel
Inovaters West damper with magnets for crank trigger
Engine is completely rebuilt with all new pistons, rings, rods, bearings, etc. ready to race. Motor was designed to go 4.8s in the eighth mile. Made 886hp. without a tune-up. Fred Brewer told me if he had been allowed to put a tune-up in it it would have made well over 900hp.

the only thing that has me scratching my head is the fact that the magnet for the crank trigger ignition is in the damper. dont dampers defelct a lot or is that a solid one? usually they run a toothed gear for that kinda stuff.

( NO ) --- THINK OF IT LIKE THIS, EVEN IF IT WERE A STOCK RUBBER INSERTED TYPE SBC BBC, THE MOUNT HOLES ARE IN THE CENTER, SO THE TRIGGER WHEEL IS DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO THE SPUD ( CENTER PART ) OF THE CRANK AND IS NOT AFFECTED BY ANY FLEX --

the only thing a bracket motor Set up would do different, is the fuel lines under manifold will heat soak ( theirs about 7" or 8 " of flatness to them AIR POCKETS ) it will happen in the staging lanes, and cause the battery to run down trying to start it in later rounds mid summer, also causing ignition low out put -- most with that set up will be Nostalgia Racing so its not really a thing -- the special covers they make will help ???? --

it still would have a dist and its belt driven usually off the cam - crank trigger sets the timing for it -- # -- 35* / 40* --- their is a phasing between them that goes on with the ignition rotor and timing position of trigger on the wheel -- see it done once and yep i see --

interesting that they used phenolic carb spacers and a phenolic spacer from the intake to the carb adaptor. anyone think they are afraid of heat by chance?

How are things going with that? Haven't heard you mention anything about "head" since you dropped them off at the builders....

They are in the process of designing a new rocker arm set up. I haven't had to give him any $ yet, so I'm letting him take his time.

OK if you have a picture of that set up or who makes it i would like to see it -- 8 coils and a timing computer looking at the trigger wheel -- because i don't get it --- the motor has to go around twice and triggers have 4 magnets unless they have plugs firing on the exhaust stroke as well -/ with 4 two output coils - how does it work -- i was talking about a front drive, off the cam sprocket that type of distributor, and did not know they made that ether for an amc
