Gasket help

I need help choosing gaskets for my 400sbc, I dont know what kind do use, and what bore or anything.

I need
head gaskets
intake
valve cover
and anything else for a cam change.

i have reusable header gaskets from my 305, would those work?

i have always been happy with fel pro products. you can see all the applications in jegs catalog, there may even be a kit available to suit your needs

it is going to depend on what head you end up with, some you can drill easy for steam holes and some you cant the gasket falls apart or rips ???? what head did you or is that still up in the air as well -- anyway i have 17049 < maybe # been a while -- and can send one to you so as you end up putting the holes in the correct place, that is if you even end up with the 406 in the car -- jz

do you also know if the bore is really 4.200" still, or is it maybe 4.230" or another variation after being bored.

ah ok, i was just saying that since he said 4.200 and as far as i know, he never had the bore size checked. so it may be stock or it may have been bored, if the 4.200 will work on a stock bore then it doesnt matter. lol

I think what John was saying was that if i'ts a stock block, 4.200" bore gaskets would be very close to the water jacket.

I just used standard Felpro head gaskets for a 400 from the local Advanced Auto Parts store.
