Which headers for 3rd gen

89 IROC 305TPI. Im looking into replacing stock headers with better ones. Which would you recommend for flow and fit?

I have a set of edelbrock tes headers and they seem to be pretty good, good fit and nice quality.

SLP and Edelbrock have the best fit and finish it seems for thirdgen shorty style pipes. right now Edelbrock is the only way to go if you are worried about getting emissions stuff as SLP is phasing out their thirdgen stuff.

What happend with the Heddman headers? I had them and they looked like good quality headers. I had mine coated, but as far as the fit and everything, they went in great with no real problems outside of standard crap anyone deals with when installing headers.

As Tim said Edelbrock and SLP seem to be the headers of choice for the thirdgen models. Hooker is also highly reputable. I haven't had any experience with Heddman.

I bought Camaroracer1992's Edelbrock TES headers and they were great. I sent them to be jet-hot coated and they looked awesome. I will be going with a set of SLP's on my 86 soon.

I had SLP's on my 87 GTA. No complaints here.

What kind of shape are your engine mounts in? Sometimes a worn out mount can cause headers not to fit well.....
