not sure if this goes here-pulley/belt/pump problem

well once i start up my car and am about to turn out from somewhere and i turn the wheel, my power steering belt squeaks. now i had someone turn the wheel once and i watched. like the pulley on the pump stopped and belt just kept spinning around the pulley resulting in that annoying squealing sound.

is there anyway to stop this and is it bad (aside from poss. ruining the belt)?

Yeah, adjust the belt! Or, if it is adjusted out all the way you need a shorter belt.

Does it look like the belt is slipping? How is the tension?
