so i work for a ski shop in westwood called mt everest ski & board... last year i started off making by making a basic website (store hours, and general info) and that turned into doing their graphic work for flyers we send out to 10,000 people on our mailing list. my boss was pleased with my work and told me i could start designing a few ads for newspapers if i liked (The Record, and the Sunday Edition of the NY Times) and its awesome, im building an awesome portfoilio and i havent even taken any courses in graphic design yet!
he comes up to me 2-3 weeks ago and tells me hes going to put an ad in Transworld Snowboarding Magazine, a country-wide snowboard publication, that would be 2/3rds of a page to promote our store and our new online store that im currently making (
www.1800mteverest.com ).. so i submit my ad to transworld over the weekend and they accepted it and the advertising guy told me he liked the ad alot, it will be in next months issue, im so pumped!
after all these years of not knowing what i want to do, i think i finally found my niche!
