So now im REALLY ****ed

for those that did not know i recently got fired from my good job because of ******** that goes on in the workplace, but i wont get into that. ive been filing for unemployment for the past 6 weeks without pay, because they require 6 week waiting period if you get fired.....now i get my notice of determination in the mail....i am DISQUALIFIED FROM BENEFITS! those bastards where i used to work told them something COMPLETELY different then the real reason i was fired.....now im negative money in my checking account, and i have a car payment coming up which isnt cheap....and i can find a decent paying job to compensate! damn! wow sorry about that rant i just had to let it out. but i dont want to lose my car, and i need a ****ing job!

this is what i get for serving my ****ing country, a boot in the ass.

Is it to late to go back Active/Reserve?

I know Home Depot isn't the greatest place to work, but they will hire prior service w/o question with an honorable discharge. Something to pay the bills while you hunt for a better job get back on your feet.

i thought the only way you could be disqualified for unemployment is if you quit? what did they tell the office?

i was fired because of "poor performance", from my bosses mouth that is what they said.....after i got my fact finding interview from the unemployment office they were told by my previous employer something different, they said that i left work for personal reasons constantly, which never happened.

on one occasion i asked my immediate supervisor if i could leave early, he said it was ok...so i left, and got in trouble by my boss because my supervisor told the boss that i just left without asking.

now this supervisor is also the old guy that leaves all the friggin time for personal **** ALL the time and doesnt get **** for it. and has a tendency to throw other employees under the bus to cover his own ass.

gah i ****ing hate people.

anyways, that job i was a military contractor, i repaired military HMMWVs and ****. im a mechanic by trade, i can do almost anything mechanically. ive been working on automobiles for atleast 4 years now, (including 2 years so far of Marine Corps reservist). anyone need a mech? lol im a hard worker and ALWAYS make sure **** gets done before taking a break, i DESPISE down time, and idle work.

here is the letter i got from the unemployment office:

"You are hereby notified that based upon the facts obtained and in accordance with the New Jersey unemployment Compensation law, the deputy (named below) has determined that:

You are disqualified for benefits from 07/13/08 through 08/23/08

You were discharged from work on 07/14/08

You were discharged for constantly leaving work early for personal reasons.

Your actions, after having been warned, constitute a willful and deliberate disregard of the standards of behavior your employer had a right to expect. Therefore, your discharge was for misconduct connected with the work. You are disqualified for benefits."

if you can swing it, try your ass off to get a job with a township. the pay is pretty good, amazing benefits and you get a ton of holidays off.

first off sorry that you lost your job, i recently had the same thing happen to me... my wife found out that unemployment wont pay if you were terminated for "misconduct" or something along those lines but according to my lawyer the old job that terminated me will pay in the long run... thank god I always have a second job... but to try and help you out... mechanics are always needed in larger EMS services in my experience (smaller places usually farm out the work to a local mechanic) I used to work in Jersey City a few years ago and they had trouble staffing the mechanics shop. Also a friend of mine says UPS is always hiring, physical work not sure about the pay but money is money. Throw a resume out on Monster.com, it cant hurt. Good luck with it!!!

file an appeal with unemployment and hopefully if you didnt actually leave early alot in the prior weeks of your termination you can show paycheck stubs with your hours on them..

For unemployment purposes I think they have to. Because for gross misconduct they won't give benefits. How else would they know? You won't tell them (not saying you did, just using it as an example).

And I agree, try to appeal the decision. Do you have any documentation from work on why they let you go? Any documentation on when you asked to leave early and who granted the permission?

Call the unemployment office and ask to have your case investigated. If they agree, an investigator will contact you about your case and you can tell them what happened. Same thing happened to me once and the investigator turned the ruling around and I got full benefits.

yeah, well my girlfriend's mom works for the department of labor for the state...and she knows people...lol, she said she would send federal in after the unemployment deputy if it didnt get fixed. cause its bs that i have to deal with lying ******** that fire me for no good reason, other than that the boss is incompetent, and then try to dick me out of money that i paid into anyway to help pay the bills?

and its a government contractor! they work for the army and they cant give me a damn break? they actually made me use 8 hours of vacation time i saved to go to drill that was scheduled on a friday....instead of LWOP. leave without pay. they are such dickheads....grrr....!!!..calm down.....
