The wife and I got into a car accident today.
Like I didn't have enough pain cause of the surgery and stuff I've been going through over the past 3 months?!?!?!?!
We were on our way to look at a house in west milford and most likely put an offer on it.
We were sitting in traffic in a 2009 Mercedes CLK350 cabriolet - 0 mph - I look in the rear view mirror and see a car coming really fast up on us, I know it ain't stopping, I yell "Oh *****!" and BAM!!!!!!
I tensed up - wife didn't.... good for her.... bad for me.
She hit us at around 40 mph... she never hit the brakes.... she was paying attention to her kid in the back seat.
2005 Kia vs. 2009 Benz = BENZ FTW!!!
Her car is totaled.
Benz looks fine except for a scratched bumper - I looked under the car and the entire tray that the spare tire sits in is cracked and smashed. Roll bar bits popped up.
The wife was taken to the hospital via ambulance - she was on a backboard and neck brace all tied down.
I had enough anger and adreniline in me that I didn't have much pain in me then....and it slowly got worse later.
I drove the benz all the way to the hospital.
She had x rays for the neck and was released.
I had x rays on my neck and left shoulder and had a cat scan on my stomach, had an iv, blood work etc and was finally released.
She has a bit of pain in her neck.
I'm in mo fo pain - neck, back, shoulders, stomach - specifically where I had the recent surgery, headache etc.
As for the lady.... well.... F her.
I'm glad I was in a company car. Yay Mercedes!
Some people complain about a price tag of $50K+, well... I say it is worth every single penny.
I would hate to see how we would have been if we were in her hyundai elantra or my trans am.
Pic's to be posted soon.

Damn! Benz definitely won that one! Makes me want to buy one just for the safety reasons.
Hopefully all the pains and aches go away soon!

like everyone else is saying, definitely glad you two are all right.
Reminds me of when I was rear ended in the camaro (white one)
Rav 4 was destroyed and while I only had a scuffed bumper but alas the insurance totalled it.

Thanks everyone.
Yeah, there have been a couple instances over the years when I am driving a company car and it has left me speechless on how well it has reacted in an accident/ panic situation. Those are the times I really truly understand how good the car is.
The wife is doing fine - she has some minor pain.
As for me..... I just plain ache all over... pain throughout.... my left shoulder is the worst part. The cat scan saw no tear or rip where I had the surgery so that is good.
As for sueing.....if my wife or me were severely hurt, maimed, affected etc., then I would do it. Just typical accident type injury (whiplash etc.) I really doubt it.
I HATE lawyers and frivolous law suites.
Yes, it would be nice to pick up a ZR1, a viper ACR, or dodge neon for a daily driver but my conscience would not allow me to do it if it wasn't serious. If the surgery was ripped open then sure as hell I would be doing it.... and maybe get a fleet of dodge neons - 1 for each day of the week!!!! Ahhhh, what a dream
Sigh..... now I KNOW I gotta get the wife back into a benz for my peace of mind.

It was interesting driving up to meet james and genie at the house and as I'm passing the accident I hear james yelling in my window, HEY GENE. I pulled over to make sure everything was ok. Lady's car got FUBARED pretty good, I was amazed at how well the Benz held up. Stayed with them til the ambulance left and got some pics of genie on the stretcher all tied up and stuff. LOL Sent her the 2 pics so I'm sure she'll post them eventually when she's feeling better.
And to be more specific it's the UGL section of the milf.

glad you guys are relatively alright. but i would love for you to sue that lady!! make up for the bitch that is sueing me for hitting her rear bumper @ 5-10 mph. it was her 3rd accident within 1 month. she waited till 1 day was left to file a lawsuit. you have 2 years from the date of the accident to file she had 1 day left. nothing was wrong with her but someone filled her head with SUE -SUE- SUE. so the bitch did.
get well soon

Benz's are indestructable, my buddy's mom got into a similar accident but w/ a jaguar. The hood was all crumpled on the jag but her benz had only a few tiny scratches on the bottom of the bumper
Glad to hear everythings alright
