SUCKS
Just got the car running pretty good Took it to the Wendys on rt 1 in edison for that little car meet, did some dumb things made me happy.
Almost lost control of the car but caught it straightened out continued to roast the tires and then drive normally on rt 1 on my way out of their and a mile down the road a cop comes flying down behind me.
I got pulled for wreckless driving, he throws on top cracked windshield, couldnt find my registration, car was going to get inspected this weekend but hasnt yet,my front license plate-on my dash, so he wrote me up for EVERYTHING he could get plus I didnt get insurance on my car JUST YET seeing as I JUST GOT it running enough to drive around.
No insurance in NJ is automatic loss of license for 6 MONTHS!!! Ill be walking for the next 6 months saving and BUILDING THE CRAP out of my thirdgen. See me this summer with a low 11 second street car running 89 all day.
Im done!

im sure you were happy having your car, but why attract attention to yourself if you didn't have ANYTHING right with the car?

You have the worst luck man. Well just think of all the gas you will save and with the savings you can get it painted!

There is an old saying "you create your own luck".

To bad that does not apply here. He wasn't hit by a stray bullet. Given his list of things, the only right place was his driveway.

I did tackle that list heavily before heading out to wendys tho.
But yes it was dumb but MOST of us have done it before, I just chose to do it with no insurance...that was the kick in the ass.

It is a run of bad luck with the cop being there but basically your car wasn't 'road worthy' paperwork wise. BS? At first glance, yeah. But what happens if you smack into somebody else fooling around with no insurance?
I have not done this before in any of the projects I've worked on- all 4 of them. I thought about it, and it really sucked to leave the stuff parked (I never drove my first Camaro on the road even though it could have been) but it's too risky, especially in something that looks like it's not road worthy from a physical sense (in primer). I've only taken trips around the block where I could pass off the "testing something" line if needed.
I gotta say man, it's really, really stupid to fool around in a car with that stuff not in order. I know it's been a long road for you to get it to this point but a big stack of points and fines will not help your cause. Tough way to learn the lesson...

im going to try to gt all the tickets dismissed by pleading guilty to the no insurance thing and just sitting for 6 months. Wildbilly is right this was the hard way but for me the only way of learning my lesson. Ill ride the 6 months or so and just save. It sucks but I made my own bed this time.

No insurance company will back date coverage, imagine the liability that would open them up to(not in this case, just generally speaking).
To the OP: Do you have insurance on any other vehicle? How long have you owned the Camaro? If you just titled and registered it the car "should" automatically be covered for a few days until you officially add it to your policy. I would guess though that you've had it for a while.

O RLY? I'd like to know ANY insurance company that would back date insurance coverage. None of them would...then again I used to work in the business, what do I know lol.
So by your theory you could get into an accident today with no coverage, call up an insurance company tomorrow for coverage and have them backdate the coverage...then they'd be liable for the accident payments.....
No insurance companies would want to get wrapped up in fraud because that's what they'd be committing if they were to backdate his insurance card/coverage.

I was behind jerseyboy, we all left wendys hopped onto RT1 some went some, some of us went to the diner.
At the light he lights up the tires and slides sideways accross 3 lanes of traffic and swings its back and forth a few times. I'm doing 65 MPH in a 50 zone in the fast lane and he's passing me, cop comes shooting up crosses the bridge going into new brunswick(at this point I already passed teh diner) cop looks to me, he nods and speeds up and put the lights on after you.
I mean, you saw the cops were really out last night... also right in our lot, a car went away on a tow truck... Larry said drive light grandma once you said no insurance...
Good luck with everything...

At least you know what you did was stupid, which is a start. But, you broke a lot of laws, and you're going to have to pay.
You have 6 tickets. Reckless driving is 5 points. I really, really hope you have never been pulled over before. Only then you might have a, all be it slim, chance of getting a plea deal. And, once you do insure your Camaro, its going to be damn expensive.
Good Luck with everything. You learned a lesson, unfortunately, it was the hard way.
