Notice how many car companies use crap plastic headlamp lenses?

When you work in this auto industry, you have to ask yourself WTF does the inspection station look for when the PLASTIC headlamp covers on quite a few vehicle makes are completely fogged over from age and industrial etching. I tell some of these people it's like putting a paper towel over the lenses and cutting off over half of the light coming out of it. If your beam of light is supposed to go out a certain distance at 60 mph, your CLEAR lamp lenses should light up the subject well before you come to it. When you cut off half(or more)of the light, you will not have enough time to react before you see the object before you. Some of these are so BAD, you can't even see the bulb inside. Just some light sanding (1500 or finer) and a buffing pad with compound will bring back a lot of these covers.

Stupid car companies that put this crap material on cars and then walk away from problem!

I never go to the state run inspection stations the lines are always way too long and then if you got something stupid like lets say low washer fluid they will fail you.

So all that waiting for nothing.

haha they can't fail you for low washer fluid.

to cut down on wait time, they made most of these minor infractions, like problems with lenses, advisories. they are to inform the owner that these conditions could result in traffic tickets. it is insane how nasty headlights get. rarely do any of those "defogger" kits remove the clouding and hazing.

I've been meaning to tell you to lay low.

Cars need to get lightened up, thus the plastic lights. Get out there with rubbing compound and fix it, geez. It ain;t rocket science.

My point was that 95% of the people that have this condition on their cars do not know just how much light they have lost or how to correct it. Sorry to upset anyone with my loud noises print!
