got our orders...
we finally got our deployment orders the end of last week.
heres the basics...
Effective Dec 15th, 2008
Theater: Operation Enduring Freedom OEF
Length: 365 days or until mission completed
We also know which FOB we will be at and weapon status there is Loaded magazines in weapons at all times, just no round in the chamber yet, And thats ON the fob. We will be in the highest danger area to date in the iraq/afghanistan theater.

i only need like 14 days overseas to get vet statuts, lol
and thanks everyone, im excited to go, not really scared, just i know im gonna some stuff back home here.
and there will be a going away somethign on sat nov 29th... not really sure where/what yet. i just know that date cuz thats the last night im positive i'll be in nj.

for me, and only my opinion, i don't think "thanks for your service" really relays the proper sentiment - but that is only for me. you are going to be doing a job i wanted since september 11, 2001. so, not only thanks for your service to our country, but thanks for stepping up to do a job that i physically can't do.
let us know if you need anything once you get there and where to send it, etc. you might find out you need batteries or something that is not coming down thru channels.
of course stay safe - you said you'll be in one of the more dangerous places since the war began. so keep your head down and keep a lock on the enemy. oh, yeah, and GIT SOME!
