My bad day at Island

Started off alright with some fun at wendys and then once we got to island had a decent run...just couldnt stop spinning the tires...but anyway the rear end decided to take a dump for the second time ...not sure what blew but its fine in a straight line but turning with a little bit of gas makes my car sound like its getting hit with a sledge hammer on the right rear wheel...also if i downshift to slow down the car pulls right...anyone know what might have blown...i know last time when i ripped a few teeth off the ring and pinion it was just clicking real bad before it detonated but this sounds and feels pretty different...any help is appreciated.

almost sounds like it could be a torque arm mount, are you still on the stock torque arm?

if you are, i would climb under the car and check both the torque arm mount and the transmission mount for torn bushings before i got too upset about things.

i was thinking more along the line of the spider gears...how much does this usually cost to get fixed anyway?

think what you want, and you might be right....but it would suck to spend a couple hundred on repairs and THEN find out it was a 30 dollar tq arm mount......or dont listen thats fine too

Definetly sounds like spider gears. If you jack it in the air and rotate one wheel slowly, do you hear a clunking?

see im almost positive its something in the rear...last rebuild my old mechanic said the whole thing has a slight bend in it from the last time it exploded and could go again at anytime...so now its the process of the new one comin in...hopefully this one isnt emo and doesnt try killing itself.
