QA1 assembly help... please!

hey guys iV never used coil overs before and i want to make sure i do this right.... i know how the bottom adjuster nuts and thrust bearings go on... what im a little confused about is the upper mounting... have a few questions...

1. do i have to use the stock bumper? Im not sure that it will fit over the shaft...
2.do i use the stock dust boot? again im not even sure if it fits...
3. I dont have those "insulator" rubbers that mount inside the top of the mount... Do i need them?

here is a pic i just took today after a mock up fitting.. all i did was slide the mount over the shaft and down onto the lock nut on the shaft (its just sitting on that large hex... is that correct?) with it just sitting like that i threaded the 2 nuts down which im assuming are the hold down nut and a lock nut... but when i did this there is a small gap maybe 1/8 inch beteen the nut and the mount.. why is this... am i missing somthing or how did you guys assemble yours.... they are the double adjustables but should be the same as the single.... thanks for any help

you can see the gap between the mount and the nut... that nut is threaded down as far as it goes...

I think you are missing a piece. There should be a metal plate covered in the same black rubber that fits on top, down inside of that rubber mount you have shown.

yes. They should fit inside the rubber mount you have shown. They have a metal plate inside them even though they look like all rubber. It will pull down the top of that strut so you dont have clearance issues between the mount and your fender

i dont know... i dont remember them being in there when i originally lowered the car... i dont think i would have thrown them away but its possible i lost them.. because i had to sawzall my old shocks apart and even with cheapo compressors they shot accross the yard so i probably lost them then and didnt know they were there.... that is why my mount tore through with the lowering springs on.... o well.. it will be good now.... thanks again for the help
