Damn, that's worse than the ones someone posted last year (maybe sweetbmxrider?) of the truck that came in for a brake job, and the pads were on the fins because the outer half of the disc was gone! Holy !rear brakes Batman!

I belive it 100%.
I had a Grand Marc come in with front vented rotors worn to the fins, and the rear rotors as thin as paper.
He was only a few hours away from this guy. But he had BOTH sides like this.

Hell I worked on an 87 mustang that had just fins on one side. My friend and me sold that car to another friend of ours as a first car. He came to me one day saying he had a small grumbling noise when he braked, I said bring it to me when you get the chance. he put it off for a month, and one day after school he took me somewhere down the road and it was just grinding and vibratnig, I forced him to come to my house so I can take a look. Right down to the veins, no pads left, his caliper froze. I put all new hardware on the driver side, and rebuilt the caliper since he didnt have any money for a new one, and never had a problem with the brakes again.
Some people ignore the problem, thinking it's goign to go away. Had another friend that did that, and end result was intot the back of another car goign downhill.

its not a photoshop. ive seen rotors almost to this point but not quite. the worst ive seen them is down to the inner fins but this is totally believable. look at the up close pic of all the brake gunk laying in there

I believe it too.

What surprised me is the piston did not leak fluid. You guys who have never been in the service business have no idea the danger lurking out there.

This one is more common than you want to know:
