No more NASCAR for me, it's boring, tryign to make it "hip" and "with the times", and in my opinion, killed the sport, and what excited me. I am a big Mark Martin fan, and I'm glad to see him work his magic this year, but even though he almost wont the championship, at the same time, this new points system is ****, and is the only reason Johnson has won it 4 times. I laugh when I think the NASCAR sanctioned a restriction on Toyota motors EVEN though they were within the rules, yet hendrick just runs away with the show and nothign is done. It's just like F1 (up until this year, now it's exciting to watch) Don't bother watchign the race, you already know where everyone will end up.

They have sanctioned restrictions on every manufacturer at one point or another. I guess Toyota is too new to realize how the game is acutally played. GM, Ford, and Mopar have all dealt with this.

I wonder how she will do muscling one of those heavy ass dinosuars around a track for 4 hours. She is a little thing.

I also wonder if she does well if the other nascar drivers will cry about her wieght advantage like the cart guys did. Boo-hoo.

I heard she would be driving for Dale Jr's Nationwide team. And that's no big deal to me. Two mediocre drivers who are great marketing tools. They are like peas in a race losing pod.

And Danica looks decent but she has the personality of a 2x4.

My boss met her in Memphis at a national sales conference, he said she photographs well...but she looks a lot older then what she really is. He was kind of disappointed.

Not as much of a difference in NASCAR - weight rules include the driver, and I don't think they do in the CART / IndyCar series. Still allows for better distribution of ballast though.

I'm as big of a critic as anybody when it comes to a lot of the direction that NASCAR has taken, but I believe that Jimmie Johnson would easily have at least 2 or 3 titles right now regardless of the chase. Jeff Gordon really did get robbed in 2007, but the 48 team has mastered getting it right when it counts, and surely they have the ability to be #1 when they gotta be on their game the entire season.

When it comes to Toyota's engines, they used some engineering tricks to lower the center of gravity of the car and get more power out of their engines. NASCAR approved of ALL of the engines that Toyota tried to get approved. NASCAR did NOT approve when other manufacturers tried to use the same tricks to keep up. THAT is why NASCAR restricted Toyota, because they wouldn't give the other manufacturers the opportunity to utilize the same technology. Toyota was barely restricted anyway... they still make the most power.

When it comes to Hendrick, NASCAR impounded the 5 & the 48 for the last bunch of races in the season. They never even looked at the 42 when Juan Montoya was digging. They were trying their hardest to find something wrong with Hendrick's cars, and they couldn't find it.

NASCAR's anything but fair and consistent, but there certainly isn't any favoritism towards Hendrick, and there certainly isn't any bias against Toyota. If anything, Toyota has it made, and their teams haven't capitalized yet on the Cup level when it comes to winning the championship.

To add onto that... obviously I'm a big NASCAR fan, but I worked in the industry for a little while when I started college. I don't work in the industry any more, but I remain friends with a lot who do. That's where I got some of the information from that isn't readily out there.

When it comes to Danica Patrick, she will be racing in a JR Motorsports car next year sporadically. Race possibilities are Daytona, Phoenix, Texas, etc. Mark my words .

Nascar has been done for a while to me. Its all about the money now. Don't really care much about Danica Patrick. I do enjoy watching the old Nascar recaps on Speed though, whenever theyre on. When you could buy the car that was going around the track.

If i want to watch circle track racing i'll go to New Egypt Speedway, Airport speedway, or bridgeport speedway. Dirt track racing is where its at. If I want to see a road race i'll go to Millville. If i want to see drag racing Atco and Englishtown are less than an hour away. What a nice state for racing...

Nascar sucked after the year 2000 they turned into a money sport not about racing. And patrick is ugly as hell. I'd go to a blow up doll before i'd do her.
