PS3 question/help

All of the sudden, I can't sign into PlayStation Network. I keep getting this message:

An error has occurred. You have been signed out of PlayStation Network (8001050F).

When I test my connection I get this:

Obtain IP Address: Succeeded
Internet Connection: Succeeded
PlayStation Network: Failed

And when I start MW2, without even trying to get online, I get this at the game's welcome screen:

Registration of the trophy information could not be completed. The game will quit. (8001050F)

Has anyone had this problem? I searched online but cannot seem to find an answer. The weird thing is I can still access the internet through the browser, just cannot get onto PSN.

There was something in the news this morning about a hardware error with certain model PS3's. Not sure if they have a fix for it yet. If you search your error code in google it brings up a lot of stuff about it.

so it works for the slim but not the older style? I logged on last Friday.Worked fine for me but that was 3 days ago. This is like Toyota!! Sony said that if you have non slim PS3 that you shouldnt use it? WTF!! This is why I pay my XBL 50.00 so crap like this dont happen. Its a good thing I am not playing any online games on my PS3 at this time! My PS3 will remain off for at least a week now because I dont feel like having to get my PS3 fixed a 3rd time!!

lol @ my friend ''how am i supposed to recieve the update when my ps3 is frozen...it wont even play games online.''

i bet that 5 dollars a month and little ''rrod'' looks like paradise compared to a worldwide psn meltdown thats locking up systems. its bad enough sony was losing money per ps3 they were selling...now this...i hope they have to give out free ps3's to everyones that broken. maybe sony will go under
