2011 Camaro HUD

Pics shot by a new 2011 Camaro owner.
HUD is standard on all 2LT and 2SS Camaros. Optional for all but LS.

I saw HUD and I thought the department of Housing and Urban Development took over the car due to its size.

Ha ha, kilometers!

A big bumper Camaro weighed ~3700 lbs +/- 100 lbs. Less than a 2010 V6 base car. And I bet mine is around 3500 +/-100 pounds. Still smaller in every dimension than the 5th gen. And has less blind spots and more rear seat room.

Hey Mr Camaro, are you going to the Camaro Nationals at Carlisle this weekend?

With what Camaro?

And your car is heavy, and the chassis is still a limp noodle. At least for the extra 150lbs, it can handle 600hp without problems.
And it has IRS, with 20 inch rims, with massive brakes, with 6 air bags, and a host of other things.
And it looks better

The chassis is a limp noodle? Your stupid is showing. This comes from a man building a car with a limp wristed 7.5" rear. You wish your precious 5th gen weighed as little as my car, which probably tips the scales just about at 3600 pounds as it sits today.

I'd never want 20" rims. Then again I understand moment of inertia, the impact of unsprung weight and general vehicle dynamics more than you. That is why when one of the magazines put smaller brakes and wheels on the v8 2010 it went almost .5 faster in the quarter mile. And that is why the v6 2010 out skid pads the v8. Maybe if they didn't try so hard to make donks fit the 5th gen the belt line of the car wouldn't be so damn high. Mikes Trailblazer SS has the same size tire as the Camaro. Great, SUV tires rock.

Oh, and last I looked the v8 2010 is at least 300 or even 400 pounds heavier, not 150. The v6 gets a lesser rear setup than the v8s, right? Are you saying the v6 rear can handle 600 hp? GM must not think so or they'd all get the same rear.

Your stupid 5th gen is a boat, even Matt knows that given his experience with boats. And that is why the new 5.0 mustang eats the camaro's lunch.

So you can't go to the biggest Camaro show near us without your car? Huh. Lots of other people do.

I understand moment of inertia just fine. Take it easy old man, I didnt design the damn car, I just like it.

Tblazer SS is 255/50-20
Camaro is 245/45-20 and 275/40-20. Not truck tires.

Belt line has more to do with hard points of the chassis then making 20's fit. Mustang 5.0 comes with 19's in its track pack...guess its a heap a **** too?

V8 and V6 rear set up is the same, down to the CV shafts.
Chassis can also handle up to 600hp. Chassis is where the weight is.

New 5.0 is as powerful as the Camaro, but performance numbers are very close on the track even with Camaro's 300lb difference. Mustang's steering is lighter, but when equiped with the track package, its a very rough ride and jittery over rough pavement.
Camaro SS's is a bit soft, and is not helping the Camaro's road presence.
Heavy cars can handle well if done correctly. Camaro's with some aftermarket suspension work are a worlds better in road handling with just the minor tweeks over GM's soft set up.
But that can be, and will be changed for 2012, along with its interior.
Untill then, continue to complaint about how bad the car is, as it still continues to be the best selling car in its class.

We dont have to get into the whole Camaro buying thing again do we? Not gunna pay mark up on a car, no matter how much I love it.

I didn't bust your balls on not buying one. :P And I never said the 5th gen is a heap of ****. I like the car. I just said it's so damn big HUD took it over. Then you rolled out the cheap shots!

Double check your info - I'm sure I read the V8 comes with upgraded IRS parts. At least the center chunk.

I hear the 6th gen is gonna be smaller & lighter.

OOoohhh, a 9 bolt. Wait till the posi goes and you can't rebuild/replace it.

I haven't driven one yet, but I did sit in a 2010 at Paramus Automall - even climbed into the back to see if my kids could fit. I fit just fine back there, but I'm only 5'3". My kids will be OK for a while though.

You need to grow more. I'm 6'0". With the driver seat adjusted the front was up against the back seat.

Could you see over the dash (really)? We talked to a guy at chatterbox on Saturday, when I asked him about blind spots he said he said he had some issues because of the dash and raised hood center section. He had the seat all the way down, he was ~6'1"

You suck at the driver mid then. I've sat in the car and I'm a much bigger man then you. Maybe you need to spend more time in third and 4th Gens to understand true blind spots. Its a non issue and after you drive the car for more them a lap you get used to it.
