thats dumb. people arent going to think 'oh, what are my friends going to think if they see this on facebook' before they decide to get behind the wheel if they are drunk. if they dont even think about the hundreds of ways they endanger themselves and others what makes anyone possibly think they are going to think about being shamed on facebook.

Not a horrible idea, but at first they said it was posted in a local newspaper...that's fine, keep it local. But now youre moving to a worldwide forum, that is easily searchable with the world wide web. what if you apply for a job, they google you and some idiot with the same name turns up on that drunk driving site... just a ot of nonsense that's not needed. I say keep it off the web.

google search might bring it up anyway especially if it made the papers. Many employers do back ground searches too.
I like public shame. Bring back the stocks
(warning: google image search for stockade punishment can bring back nutty results)

the biggest part of the post that bothers me is suspected they can do a lot of damage with just suspicion. If you're going to try and ruin lives you better be damn sure

I agree to that. You have to be found guilty in court.

From the way it was written, it sounds as if the paper listed the same thing - all those were arrested for DUI or similar. They didn't specify if there was anything going out about those who were convicted and those that weren't.
I don't read the paper much, but I believe at least a few of our local papers do the same thing with the general crime blotters. They just list who was arrested for what.

The local Courier Times does that here, they post it online too.
