very cool, I heard from a little bird last week that they were taking closed bids on this. It could end up on the West Coast which would stink but in under the roof a killer engine builder. We shall see.....

Gassers are sick but I'm curious, how fast are they compared to cars now? Could a z06 with slicks and bolt ons and a good driver keep up with one on the strip?

Running 60s technology all around they would be outgunned for sure.
Imagine running a dual quad race hemi and then backing it up with 8" slicks made of an old and ineffective compound.
But with some modern stuff the Z06 would be the one struggling to keep up.

So what kind of numbers were these race cars pulling in the 1/4?

In 1966 Grumpy Jenkins set a pro stock record at 11.66...

I thought Pro Stock didn't start until 1970. In 1966 the Grump run a small block Nova in Stock Eliminator that ran in the 11's.

cool car and all but...
I wouldn't really consider it a "barn find". It is not like the original owner forgot about it or died years ago. Hes moving to FL and sold the car. IMO a barn find is when a car usually goes "missing" for decades and then turns up where it would be least expected or a rare optioned/classic car in good or decent condition is found in a random location.

Semantics are fun. It's a picture of a car in a barn. Seems like a barn find to me
