2012+ had a revised rear suspension, If you can swing it try and find a 1LE, they usually aren't much more than an ss.

I can't say much even after owning a 2014 v6 for 3 years. However, my front suspension is knocking(@20k miles), gas tank pressure relief is annoying, blind spots, and the car is a fat heavy pig, lol.
You are welcome to come by and drive mine anytime if you want additional exposure to just driving a 5th gen or if you can't test drive the one you're looking at for some reason.

I agree, If you are aware of them, it isn't that bad and you don't notice them.
I have passengers in my car and they say they cant see anything, lol.
So mike, did you get it? I saw you checked in at a dealer the other night and figured thats where it was.

I would look into some of the trans issues with the M6. My cousin has owned two different 2011s and both had a problem with getting into 2nd gear. But even more annoying is the three failed oil pumps before the car hit 50k, the last ended up grenading the engine which GM would have fixed but for his computer tune.
Also, we ended up swapping out the parts that are different to upgrade to the 2012+ suspension with GM parts.

Get a 2012 or newer. '14-15 had the better looking front end, tail lights are hit or miss with people, better color HUD.
They do have blind spots but after an hour or two of driving you get used to them. Like previously mentioned they fat, heavy pigs. It's unfortunate because they're solid cars but could be so much better if they weren't so damn heavy.
There's a way to remedy that...buy a ZL1 that has the power to overcome the weight.

After driving the 6th gen I didn't see that much of a difference in the car, and they are a lot smaller now. I like all the extra interior room in my 2010.

Just had my front stabilizer bar links replaced this week. At just under 20k miles. Not impressed with the quality, should have lasted longer.

Ya rly. When I'm healed and back to working I won't even consider a 5thgen unless it's a ZL1 and even that will take some hard consideration. I hate to sound like "that guy" but looks aside(which are all subjective opinion) the 6thgen makes the 5th look like a flaming POS in terms of performance and quality.
The only problem is their values are already tanking, you can get a 2SS with less than 10k miles on it for under $38k, they were $46-50k new.
So with that said, where else are you going to get a very high 11 second/low 12 second car(A8) for that kind of $$?

I have heard there are killer deals on new. One of the reasons my wife bought a new 5.0 is because Camaro's were selling for list. My dad paid invoice last November(?). He wanted one and ordered it early. He could care less about value and loves the car. As mentioned above the 6th gen is soooooo much better imo. I just saw a nice 5th gen , manual, ss, 50k miles, nice shape and I think they were asking $18k. New/used car prices are pretty reasonable. It's one of the reason's I stopped looking for another 4th gen. For the $$ people wanted for an unmolested 2002 ss slp I could buy numerous other newer cars for the same or even less $$.

20hp and 200# isn't a huge difference, and I drove the 6spd, not the auto. It felt very similar to my car, not worth jumping into payments again. It's not a race car to me, just a fun daily.

That's why, the A8 cars are a lot quicker than the M6 cars. That makes sense as to why you didn't feel a huge difference.

The differences run a *lot* deeper than 20 hp and 200 pounds. It's a new architecture, and a whole new power plant that makes more torque a lot earlier.

I've never actually seen a stock vs stock dynograph comparison. Now I'm interested in seeing how the torque curves differ...
