C6 vs Porsche Carrera

on Car and Driver this morning they ran the C6 against the new Porche Carrera. I was rather disappointed in the C6 time.

Quarter Mile:
C6- 13.2
Porshe-12.8

and the porsche handled and cornered better, but then again, it does cost twice as much as the C6...

yha with a non retarded driver astock c6 on stock tires would run 12.8-12.6@112-114...im sure with slicks and a good driver they could dip into the 11's like stock c5's have.

ya i got the issue lying around somewhere...they took an 04 z06 with every option(including carbon fiber hood) and ran 11.97 at englishtown...im sure there's a writeup about it online

of course when they dynoed it it was way over the advertised 405 hp...i think it was like 440ish at the crank

yea...GMHTP hit 11.97 with a stock Z06, and a guy from LS2.com did it as well, back in early december at Atco. 11.939 @ 119mph, completely stock, stock tired, and full weight

There's actually a really good article in the newest Popular Hot Rodding about a C6 and torque management. Cartek got one, and afterdisablingthe TQ mGMT, went 11.5@118 with Kooks headers, stock mufflers, stock airbox, sticky tires, and a couple of tweaks.
