Hotrod power tour plans?
Just wondering what anyone is planning on donig as far as how many stops or hotel arrangments?
Might be a fair amount from Street Lethal club in PA so it would be cool if we all stayed at the same place.

I was gonna go for the budget long hauler award....staying in my TA overnight.
Anyone who has gone before, any idea from start to end how much it ends up costing?

I plan on driving down to Florida probably the two days before it starts and following the whole tour up. My buddy is probably bringing his 72 Vette too and hopefully him and I are splitting the hotel bill the whole time. I'm also going to look into how much it costs to send the car down on the autotrain...could be cheaper than gas for me. Who else is doing the Long Haul?

I'm planning on just doing the leg from Harrisburg to E-town this year, and long-hauling next year....

i had figured roughly $700-1000, depending on the hotels available and if any deals were to be found. i've heard from several long haulers that basically spent the night in their car and spent as little as $350 - all you have to do is feed yourself and feed the car. $50 per day on just food and gas is pretty tight, if you ask me. there are only so many bologna sammiches one can eat.

It varies a lot. some are right around 200, others are closer to 400. See here:

Ok, but what about where everyone is staying? Is everyone going to drive home Thursday night or stay at a hotel?

Ian if you want to Long Haul you may be able to hitch a ride with me too. I have to doublecheck but I don't think the gf can go. She'll be recently graduated and starting her new job probably.

I would be one of those people, but I am not too sure whether I will long haul or not. It will depend alot on the transmission and whether or not its completely shot and if I can get another one in there before the tour. Im a most definite for the Pa-Etown leg though.

Ian I'll let you know as soon as I can. Hopefully by mid April I'll know if I'll have an open seat up front.
