Need help matching parts!

I will use vortec heads on a 305 and I want to go back to basics with a non CC Carb. What gears would be the best for a Strip-street car Gas milage doesnt matter. what converter,cam, distributer, manifold and 2 1/2 in 2 1/2 out muffler.

with your trans id go with 3.73's
for the dizzy get a non cc HEI. available used or new ones go for 90ish from summit

i know nothing about converter selection...maybe get intouch with a conmpany that makes them..

your best bet would be to call up a cam company like comp cams, tell them your goals and what heads, intake and exhaust you're using and they'll point you in the right direction. After that you can call up a converter company and tell them the specs of the motor and they'll set you up with the right converter for your car. Take advantage of company tech lines

matching the parts all together by calling up companies and doing some homework with them is the best way to get your car going.
