Advice For Removal/Install Of Cam on LT1
Well all the parts are finally starting to roll in. All my gaskets bolts water pump etc. have arrived from summit and my cam and pro gear timing cam has come from bret bauer. My heads and intake manifold should be back from lloyd elliott anyday now.
So now the assembly begins...
I'll be honest and say I have never dealt with pulling and installing a cam before so I geuss you could say I'm a little nervous. If anyone has any pointers for me that'd be great even the stupid little things cause trust me I may not know them. Anything would help just to make me feel better about do this.
Oh and just in case any of you guys with experience feel like coming by and helping me with it I'd really really apprecaite it.
Thanks.
,Nick

you just lobed up the journals or the whole cam itself?
I would have thought comp would have sent me cam lube but they didn't, I geuss I shouldn't just use a general assembly lube for it right?
Also when you pulled the cam did you use extended bolts or anything, how'd you do it?

Focused ont he journals, but put a little on the lobes itself.
What you mean "extend the bolts"? As a handle to pull the cam, I just bolt the timing cover on losely and use that to grab onto...

yea the way chilton shows they do it is they use like three long bolts threaded into the cam to pull it out, i was a little confused about it too thats why i was asking.
