86 TPI HELP PLEASE

Ok so as some may know i swapped my monte carlo ss over to tpi last year now last weekend i believed i ran the car out of gas and it would not restart

after a few hours of not starting, i decided the fuel pump must be clogged, so that has been replaced

car still did not start

i bought a fuel pressure test kit from the parts store and i cant get a reading from the schraeder valve. i have checked the injectors they are getting 12 volts.

i was pointed in the direction that there may be air in the lines, so i depressed the schraeder valve to release the air, and fuel came out, but certainly not 38 psi of fuel, more like a trickle.

i also have tried starting the car without the inline filter in place to be sure that wasnt clogging me up.

i am lost and losing my patience

I'm not sure if that will work.

Maybe, use a pair of vice grips wrapped in a heavy rag and squeeze off the return line and then run it

Did you remove the shrader valve before hooking up the gauge? Some of the gauges require it removed?

Other things to look at, disconnect the fuel line from the fuel rail, be careful and have someone put the key to the on position, maybe the FP regulator went bad and your just not building enough pressure. is the fuel pump intank or external? If external, maybe the filter/sox in the tank collaped or just clogged? Could have sucked any crud in the bottom of the tank and clogged it?

Can you hear the pump prime when you first turn the key? Did you check if there was power going to the pump? Did you Check the Fuel pump relay? Just a few thoughts.

yes the fuel pump is working and only 3 days old.

i did locate a possible cause, a broken fuel line. i have replaced it yet the car still wont start. still havent gotten much from the schrader valve

Problem solved, apparantly i blew apart the line connecting the fuel pump to the steel line inside the tank. the line was split so it couldnt build pressue. dont know how i missed it when i changed the pump, but the car is running great
