there is a problem with mobil 1 shutting down a factory in the midwest or something. walmarts are out of mobil 1 and arent getting any faster.

your gonna have to pay a little extra for it buying it by the qt at an auto store

(walmart had 5 qt jugs at a good price)

FYI, M1 sucks for LS1s. its the worst oil you could put in it. id rather use any conventional oil then M1. i gave away about 10qts last year because id never use it again.

then why does it say it on my cap?

''Gm Recommends the use of Mobil 1 5w30''

royal purp is too expensive...but is awesome...and syntec blows hard. m1 is the only other choice locally.

They didn't remove it, but did reduce the amount.

Yes, diesel oil. Not needed in an LT1/LS1 but works wonders in a flat tappet engine. Does a great job of keeping everything clean, however, with the detergent formulation they use.

I used Pennzoil Platinum in my LS1 and had great success with it... no consumption or burning with the 5-30 flavor. Used M1 once and never again, ate oil like a bandit.

It is called marketing. GM gets a deal on oil, Mobil gets a nice subtle advertising program.

german castrol and nothing else. look around ls1tech for the actual physical results of oil tests in LS1s. GC wins hands down. any autozone has it, and now so does R&S strauss, even cheaper there.

They took it out of Rotella T? Damn, that was one of the only ones that still had a good level of zinc in it.

German Castrol? How does one tell the difference?

I have noticed M1 5w30 being absent from my shelves recently. Valvoline 5w30 should do the trick as well. They are currently advertising it being 4x better at protecting then M1.
