Riots break out in Massachusetts!

BOSTON, April 19

- National Guard units seeking to confiscate a cache of recently banned assault
weapons were ambushed on April 19th by elements
of a para-military extremist faction. Military
and law enforcement sources estimated that 72
were killed and more than 20 injured before
government forces were compelled to withdraw.

Speaking after the clash, Massachusetts Governor
Thomas Gage declared that the extremist faction,
which was made up of local citizens, has links to
the radical right-wing tax protest movement. Gage
blamed the extremists for recent incidents of
vandalism directed against internal revenue
offices.

The governor, who described the group's
organizers as "criminals," issued an executive
order authorizing the summary arrest of any
individual who has interfered with the
government's efforts to secure law and order.

The military raid on the extremist arsenal
followed wide-spread refusal by the local
citizenry to turn over recently outlawed assault
weapons. Gage issued a ban on military-style
assault weapons and ammunition earlier in the
week. This decision followed a meeting in early
April between government and military leaders at
which the governor authorized the forcible
confiscation of illegal arms. One government
official, speaking on condition of anonymity,
pointed out that "none of these people would have
been killed had the extremists obeyed the law and
turned their weapons over voluntarily."

"Government troops initially succeeded in
confiscating a large supply of outlawed weapons
and ammunition. However, troops attempting to
seize arms and ammunition in Lexington met with
resistance from heavily-armed extremists who had
been tipped off regarding the government's plans.

During a tense standoff in Lexington's town park,
National Guard Colonel Francis Smith, commander
of the government operation, ordered the armed
group to surrender and return to their homes. The
impasse was broken by a single shot, which was
reportedly fired by one of the right-wing
extremists. Eight civilians were killed in the
ensuing exchange.

Ironically, the local citizenry blamed government
forces rather than the extremists for the
civilian deaths. Before order could be restored,
armed citizens from surrounding areas had
descended upon the guard units. Colonel Smith,
finding his forces over-matched by the armed mob,
ordered a retreat.

Governor Gage has called upon citizens to support
the state/national joint task force in its effort
to restore law and order. The governor has also
demanded the surrender of those responsible for
planning and leading the attack against the
government troops. Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, and
John Hancock, who have been identified as
"ringleaders" of the extremist faction, remain at
large.

LOL ... and

Thomas Gage (1719 or 1720[1] – April 2, 1787) was a British general, best known for his role in the early days of the American War of Independence and the last royal governor of Massachusetts.

Id say they would be pretty happy once they got over the shock of sight of planes, automobiles, the massive expansion of our country and our vast culture diversity.

If this is some sort of half assed "tea party" ******** tag, its embarasing. Taxation without representation, which is what that whole "anti-tax" group was, is different then a group of racist brain dead asshats who follow a ***** quitter from Alaska.

"A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government. "

or

"Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves are its only safe depositories."

or even

"Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.

and or,
"For a people who are free, and who mean to remain so, a well-organized and armed militia is their best security. "

Thomas Jefferson.

Yes, and traded one tyrant for another. Yea, woo hoo for democracy, when majority doesn't actually mean anything any more.

No work of man is perfect. It is inevitable that, in the course of time, the imperfections of a written Constitution will become apparent. Moreover, the passage of time will bring changes in society which a Constitution must accommodate if it is to remain suitable for the nation. It was imperative, therefore, that a practicable means of amending the Constitution be provided.

Jefferson

Engraved on the walls of the Jefferson Memorial

I am not an advocate for frequent changes in laws and constitutions. But laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths discovered and manners and opinions change, with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also to keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors.

You fear big goverment, you should have stepped up 8 years ago, not now. Full of ****.
