Selling a used Jeep

My Wrangler is on its last legs, engine leaking ,109k miles. Has anyone had experience with something like We Buy Any Car.com or a similar company? I'd put it out on the corner with a sign but I work second shift (2-10p) and can't take calls at work. Anyone have an idea what it is.worth ballpark? 04 TJ, 4cyl. Automatic, air, soft top is black. Body is straight, no accidents, color is Patriot Blue.

Ballpark top of the head pending overall cleanliness and options along with necessary maintenance, $4-$6500. Now is the time to sell it. Try craigslist for now, you'll get top dollar especially as the weather warms.

Dammit, BMX! Can't you be quiet? I was going to offer him $500.

I'd ballpark it around 4-5k. 4 Cylinders get no love in the Jeep world.

On a serious note, what are you looking to get for it?

$2500-4k in its current state. If geared right, the 4cyl can be very trail capable. You should be able to get rid of it fairly easily...even for someone that wants a crawler.

@TheBishop.....I'd be extremely happy to get 4000, but I'm willing to negotiate since its an SE model. I figured I'd ask here since a lot of people on this board have Jeeps or have had one in the past. Maybe someone knows someone looking for a body and frame for a small block swap.

I had a feeling this was a better number. Everywhere I looked including KBB was telling me 6500 or better.

You're losing your shirt if you do that. To an enthusiast, yeah that is what it is worth. To some bro or carpet licker, you can get good money for it especially this time of year. Craigslist is the way to go, just use email. Perhaps make up a new email.

define "last legs"...if it is leaking and has a rod knock or something it could deteriorate the value severely. as sweetbmxrider said though, now is the time to sell it. people are looking for wranglers because summer is coming up everyone loves that the doors come off and top comes down. but to answer your question if its in ok condition id say around 3-4k range.

By last legs I mean that the engine is leaking slowly from the back corner between the block and head. The coolant is clean(no oil in it) and there's no rod knock or anything like that. A guy I work with fixes cars on the side, told me he has seen this problem on a lot of the dodge 4 cylinders . He said he's know people who have the gasket replaced only to have it start weeping again a few weeks later.
