Huge Surprise this Morning
I walk into work at 0739 this morning, normal time. We show up pretty much any time before 0800. So I come strolling in, laptop case around my shoulder, 93 Service Manual in one hand, hat and cell phone in the other hand. There's a large group of people standing right near my cubicile. Uh oh. I notice that they're the 2nd ARS Commander and Director of Operations (squadron who I'm attached to), and the 305OSS Commander (the squadron who I work for), and the 1st Sergeants from each.
"SSgt Wall, what's your normal show time for work!" Ummmm....0730ish??? "No biggie" they say, they're just showing the new 2nd ARS commander around (change of command was yesterday). But then the new commander says to me "But I've got something else for you........"
And he hands me a set of TSgt Stripes. Yup, I made TSgt at 8 years. Nothing could spoil my mood today.

Congrats man. Dunno about you, but I hated getting called before a formation to receive rank. Better to just have that DD214 modified and someone just hand you the new stripes.
Enjoy the added responsibility.

Nah, no added responsibility for me. Still doing the same old job I am right now, no ratee's, no nothing but wing scheduling. Till I go back to my flying squadron and flying job. Then it's a different story.

Third actually (I made SSgt First Time, KILLED that test). I'm not going to pin on until after my 9 mark unfortunately. Sometime next spring (late spring at that).

Yeah, best I can tell is it's going to be approx. $400 a month in raises. Too bad I don't get to put the rank on until April or May next year. I hate the waiting game.

Thanks man, I was wondering if you had tested or not. Just study. Get those Audio CD's for the PFE. Those saved me.
