My luck sucks!!!
I finally got time to take the car out and really drive it and see how her manners are and WELL she was running quite good TILL!!!! Well to make a long story short 2 days later meaning this morning I started her up she was running like ass.... So, I started diagnosing to find the problem and it turns out to be a wiped exhaust lobe on the #4 hole!!! Sorry to bore ya's but I'm bent right now!!

that sucks. better check everything out to find out what caused that. It would suck even more to get a new cam and wipe that one out too. Just remember, things can ALWAYS be worse.

Its funny because I kinda leaned towards Crane because I hear a lot of horror stories about Comp having quality control issues. I lucked out cause when the cam failed the lobe chipped off in 1 peice and dug into the lifter causing it to collapse. This made for an immediate nasty sound but I had no noticable metal chips in my oil.
Jim, I think Will has a few unused nitrous friendly solid cams he'd probably get rid of... I know hes got the Crane 248/258 @ 050, .500/.520lift, 114LSA among others.

Yea, I ignored the rumors of quality issues and went with comp too. I actually have the same cam as you SlowZ.
Sucks to hear that you're having trouble man. Hopefully it was just a bad cam and there isn't anything else wrong.

That sucks. How long was the car sitting? After a while, it's sometimes a good idea to crank the engine over for a while keeping it from firing up. I do this on a regular basis, even on my lawn mowers. The only car I could care less about is my Mom's volvo S80. It's lease is up next month so I've been beating the PISS out of it .

Thanks Chris, but I am leaning towards a lunati or crower right now but i'll let you know.....About the car sitting I would start it up often and drive it around the neighborhood from time to time......But I believe I know what happened, I was playin hell to dial this demon carb in that it was running terribly rich that it actually made it's way (washing down the cylinders probably) into the pan..... Sooo, needless to say it was mixing with the oil and wasn't doin much lubricating and such!.....Oh well **** happens and I'm goin to get on the ball because Aug. 14th is coming quick!

i definitely had a rude awakening i believe last week...have pressure from the cylinder getting into the crankcase and possibly the coolant...im leaning towards a head gasket...just have to figure out what caused it if that is the case...aug. 14th is the east coast f-body event correct? i should be ready by then..i really only should have a weeks worth of work unless i need to re-ring...it pissed me off bad enough that i haven't wanted to look at it...

I forgot all about the f-body nationals. Guess I better quit being lazy and finish hooking up the spray and buy myself a driveshaft loop!
