This whole space shuttle launch gets me wondering...
what that thing would run in a 1/4 mile, and if I can strap jets to my car

strait up its pretty damn slow from what ive seen...they just weigh too damn much...once it gets going theres not much of anythign faster though

if i'm not mistaken, those thing can go like Mach15-20 or something like that.

I heard them mention something like 17,500 mph to break thru... the atmosphere?? (i was getting my hair cut so didnt hear it all)

I think once they leave the Earth's atmosphere it travels around 23,000 mph with the jets on.

Problem is....thoes arent "jets" that are strapped to the side of the Space Shuttle. They are rockets. Kinda hard to use a jet engine in the vaccum of SPACE.
