may be getting a 3rd gen Camaro...

A guy in my area is selling a "TeamCamaro", one of the Choo Choo Customs conversions. it's got the 5.0L 4-bbl LG4 and the auto trans, with 120,000 miles on the clock. it has a small exhaust leak, and pulls to the right a little when the brakes are applied. The A/C needs to be charged, and the paint is fading a bit here and there. there's no body damage at all, and the brakes and tires are new. I'm not quite sure what is causing the pulling during braking. One of the calipers might be dragging slightly and brakes earlier. the interior is in good shape, no rips in the seats, no cracks in the dash or anything. it has power windows and locks.

the car has been sitting for a little while, but the current owner drained all the fluids, and replaced them with fresh stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if there's some gunk in the fuel lines. the exhaust leak is a mystery problem too, but once i find out where it's coming from it should be an easy fix.

the guy is selling it for $1400, but he said he'll let it go for $1200. i'd like to get the car and clean it up a bit, and use it as a sleeper. what do you guys think?

it's in wayne, on Newark-pompton turnpike.

FYI, if anyone's interested, there's also a white '88 GTA for sale. it has a 350, bored .030-over, and a swapped-in Richmond 5-spd trans. 2,500 miles on the new engine. Paint could use a little work on the spoiler, but other than that the car is immaculate. the seller is asking $4500, i got the number if anyone's interested.

i would hardly call the T/A mechanically sound. the thing died a week after you sold it. this car is in much better shape.
It ran fine when I sold it. Must have something to do with red-lining the motor and sitting for 5+ months?

you said it yourself....the trans was on it's deathbed. however, redlining the motor wouldn't help either.
