11.5 @ 127mph!
WOW Is all I have to say for a bone stock right off the show-room floor C6 Z06. These cars are simply amazing!

Seems like he bogged alittle off the line but still!

Judging by the guy in the video, it's got DRs or something. "what a difference hook can make" still impressive either way.

even if the et is the result of some radials, assuming the car was otherwise stock going 127 through the traps fresh off the showroom floor is damn impressive.
only showed a 1.99 short time and sounded like some big time bog. so he may have just launched it super gentle. once it is clear you cna hear it scraping the tires and see it wandering like it is hunting for traction. hehe

even with DRs a 127 trap speed is ridiculous. those cars should come with full roll cages from the factory cause alot of people are gonna get hurt driving a car that boogies like that

a hair over 500 HP and it weighs a little less than 3K pounds (dont belive the published figures). I'm not suprised one bit. The 04 ZO6 trapped about 114 stock, add another 100 hp and take some weght out, definitly possible.

Eh, front and rear fenders as well as the inner fenders are CF. I belive the door is still composite, not sure of the hood. The chassis is all aluminum, with the removeable roof being all magneisium, and non removable now. Floorboards are carbon fiber wrapped around Balsa wood, or some other exotic material wrapped around balsa wood.
Yeah, this car is a supercar for unsupercar prices.

GM determined in testing that a balsa core with a fiber shell is much safer in an accident. the fiber bonds itself to the wood and when impacted will cracked and remain in big pieces in an accident, where as the CF alone will turn into small shards and a dust that is very dangerous when inhailed.
when i first heard balsa as a floor structure i though WTF? then i looked into it and it really makes sense.

There is wood on the steering wheel and dash on many major luxury cars...why not have wood floors?

Discussed at work.... extremely rigged and biased magazine.
Look at that magazine's history with testing MB's.... they consistently rate them below ANY other magazines.
I understand your logic..... it's just flawed

So ALL the mags that have tested the 2 cars are wrong?
Im a little upset at the beat down the American cars got for COTY. How the Civic won is beyond me. I guess all you need is an engine that revs up to 8k rpm, and dual level, digital dashes to win. GM should reenter the ZR1 Vette, I think it has a good chance beating it.

don't ya just love how car guys hang their hats on magazine test numbers when they work in their favor and the comparisons are always "rigged" when they lose.
from everything i have read the STS-V is supposed to be a little quicker and have slightly more user friendly features. the benz has more do-dads and **** going on in their cars than every other car company it seems.
so today some "expert" who doesn't actually have to pay for or live with a car picked the caddy, BFD.
if anyone relies on any of the information posted in magazines beyond the wheels base and available colors you are fooling yourself. those people don't know what a real world test actually is. they see a car for a day, a week, a month at most, and then they are off to the next big shiney toy that they got handed the keys for.
