if the injectors are firing I would think the ECM is still okay.

nah no codes cuz i keep disonecting the battery and nothing comes up on my scanner when cranking or when the key is just in the "run" position.

true the injectors are still firing

i did have an issue with VATS when i first installed the TPI but ive since gotten a new chip for a camaro vs the chip for the GTA that came with the TPI system and thats when i finally got it started

try runnign the ecm diagnostic. im not sure exactly how by my memory, but its by jumping 2 terminals in the diagnostic conenctor. i know you can find how on the web. The ecm will flash the "check engine" light to correspond with any codes found, but heres the main thing. it should first flash the code 12 to show it is working properly. if you run the diagnostic and get no code 12, there thats a pretty major issue, and one cause could be a bad ecm.
