i agree. but this has been discussed before. now if you guys dont care about where you park and it really just becomes all of us meeting eachother on the beach itself, that's fine. but if you guys want to be able to park somewhere all in one spot to see all the cars or whatever, we have to make arrangements at a place to do that and put down a down-payment for it. and the site doesn't have that kind of money to do that.

but i think it would easier to find a place to meet up really quickly and then all cruise down from there and park wherever. but, even that's maybe easier said than done.

Sandy Hook and Island Beach State Park both have quite a few big parking areas. I think IBSP is the nicer of the 2.

Wow - Space Station wants to drive all the way to the beach?

If you guys wanna meet up at the beach, the only place I know of that would let us all park together and still be relatively cheap would be Island Beach State Park. Any restaurant or club type place that would reserve space for us would require a deposit, and we don't have one. All of our money goes into paying for the website and into event prize funds.

Not sure when/if I'm able to go. I've got the 9-5 job with not much personal time left for the year, and I've gotta be in Bridgeport (South Jersey, opposite side of the state from the shore) on Saturdays by 4ish.

Everyone who wants to go, start posting up some possible dates....

justin is right about the way shore area meets work during the tourist season. it is a cool idea and we have looked into a few options in the past to have a meet near the beach, but nothing has really worked out.
june we will be back in norht jersey and july will be centrals next meet. i will explore some options and see if there is anything that we can make work. i will warn you as justin did, without money for a huge deposit someplace this meet idea is not likely to get too far.

then we run into the parking issue. to park all together we would need to find a lot to set aside spaces in the middle of their money season for us, which requires a deposit. that would still leave the wonder and worry of not knowing if all the nice cars parked together are actually safe because most of these lots operate on a "park at your own risk" basis and do not supply any sort of security other than the 15year old minding the gate.

space station doesnt care about parking together, he just wants to meet up and cruise to the beach. then once we get there its every man/woman for them selves as far as parking.

Or we could all just meet at IBSP. The meets are normally later in the afternoon when a lot of the crowds start rolling out. Their lots are big enough that if the meet is at like 2pm or even later, most people could park together. Then you can hang out at the cars or go onto the beach itself. And I doubt it would require a deposit, just the money to get in.

As for eating...they have a snack stand...who said we had to go to a restaurant? Or everyone can bring sandwiches/hoagies/chips/drinks etc and just eat on the beach.

I can see sandy hook from my house. Im sure I can scout a few areas. only thing that sucks is, from memorial day to labor day its not free to park. And its gone up every year (its friggin expensive) Ill check the area to see any free parking (that is decent)

I'm with Genie on this one. That sounds like the easiest thing to do.

When we have meets, we don't really spend the WHOLE entire time just looking at the cars. We usually form some kind of circle, or several, and all chat, haha. Even if we parked somewhere for a bit, even if its not all in a row, we'd all be able to get a glimpse of the cars, and then all cruise on the road to the beach. Or just quickly gather for a bit, and then go right for the cruising. We could have a place to meet on FOOT at the beach, and then all hang out. or something. I guess you could think of this less as a "look at the cars" meet, but a "cruise to the beach meet" All of us on the road, on the way down, in a huge group, windows down, hair blowing, the sound of f-body exhausts and cut-outs in our ears, Yeah. like that.
