Question about getting blown.

Didnt really want to post this here. It was supposed to be a supprise car. Oh well, I need the advice.
I am going to be building a race motor. I am going with 540CI. With the 540CI, Ill be looking at around 8.5:1 compression with a set of 119CC heads. I am looking to throw an 8-71 Weiand blower (Id LOVE to do 12-71, but funds do not permit me to). N/A I am aiming for between 700-800HP (not sure with the lower compression).
Would 8.5:1 be too high/low to run an 8-71 w/ around 8lbs? I was shooting for ~1,000HP, but whatever I end up, will be fine for now.
This is what the short block looks like as of now.
Quote:
Dart Big M 9.8 Deck Nodular Caps 4.500
SRP Pistons Forged 1.27 CH Flat Top 8.5:1
Eagle 4340 Forged steel internal Balance Crankshaft 4.25 Stroke
Eagle 4340 Forged Steel H beam rods 6.385 length ARP 8740 Bolts
King Alecular Pro Race Bearings Rods and Mains
I have not purchased these parts yet. I was looking at a set of BBC AFR heads (119 CC).
Also shooting for 5 MPG N/A, 3 MPG Blown (with a 12gal fuel cell thats only ~36-50 miles to a TANK)

8.5:1 should be okay with 8 lbs as long as you run the right fuel and have the timing straight.

AFR heads work way better un shrouding the valves in a blower motor, your pumping it any way so it does not matter static compression wise, i would talk to them they are real helpfull -- my guess 125 / 135 cc combustion chambers --- the cnc stuff on heads if you buy up one size and leave ports alone no CNC ( as cast ) just do the chambers its 800 /900 cheaper as a dealer to do retail ?? -- 8 1/2 to 1 and a blower will take a 3 plus HP starter 4 - 45 ratio and double 1000 amp battries, keep that in mind with balancing out the trunk its 100 to 125 pounds you get to move around, see how car leaves with film ( movie ) than put them perm --- cam and carb injection ????? bird catcher alky will be the best deal --- run cooler and its 2 to 3 tenths faster, shaft rockers will be a must the blowers snap the motor so hard most brake off roller rockers studs even with stud supports -- low 9s high 8s or is car like 1500 lbs ( 7 / 800 HP ) is easy -- the last 540 i put together for Buster has AFRs 335 748 748 comp roller same type lower unit except 38 cc dome pistion 124 cc chambers 1050 carb on gas not Alky 2 speed glide 456 diff 16-33 tires runs mid 8s in 90 deg weather 163 MPH we will be at Island for the Carols on the 13th Aug sunday it a gen 3 i think jz

i would look into a set of trick flow heads. they have been making some good numbers over on LS1tech and are a little better priced then the AFRs.
