OMG what a long weekend!!!
Rant mode on
On friday I scheduled one person to come over to get a case learn done real quick on his bonneville...before he showed two colorado I5 owners arrived from their drive down from Canada, yes canada, for their tunes. They were both scheduled for saturday morning but i guess they wanted to meet me & make sure they found my house. Anywayz get the case learn done & pulled the colorado tunes so I could get a head start on them friday night to make life easy on saturday morning. Once they left the family went out to catch a movie...superman in this case...my review eh, the new superman aint no christopher reeve, but whatever...head home do some work on the tunes and pack it in around midnight.
Saturday morning wake up around 8:30 to get ready for the canadians, they arrive a few minutes after 9am...I have them fill out some paperwork & setup some scanner configs to use on their trucks & from there we head to mufflex...after waiting at mufflex for over an hour because they were backed up they get their sensor bungs installed & head back...got finished tuning around 6pm that night & then it was off to a birthday party. Got home around 10pm...a couple of hours online and again packed it in around 1am.
Sunday morning I got to wake up a little late 9am or so...wife & kid go to church around 10am & I hang out doing chores around the house for a bit and head to Ian's to replace that intake manifold gasket on the wife's buick and let me tell you guys what a pita that turned out to be...of course Ian being the master tech that he is took everything in stride. To get the manifold gaskets off you need to remove the valve covers, upper intake, then the fuel rails, then the lower intake, then loosen all the rocker arms & remove & organize the pushrods since they are all different lenghts...then you can finally remove the gaskets...the pushrods don't go through the heads like standard SBC that im used to...friggin retarded if you ask me how they do it but whatever...so we get it back together & apparently one of the fuel injectors didnt seat properly so was leaking once we pressurized the system.
So we break it down again to the injector rails, remove & reseat everything & reconnect it...this time pressurize the system before buttoning everything back up...new leak different injector...so again we break it down/depressurize the system blah blah blah...one of the O rings is more like a U ring for whatever reason...had a flat spot...dunno wtf happened there but whatever, thankfully Ian had some O rings from his mustang that we just used...pressurize the system again, BINGO...we button it up and everything was good...finally arrived back home at 10:45pm walking like I was about 90 years old. Anywayz moral of the story, Thanks Ian for your help yesterday
rant off
lata

anytime bill. I'm sorry it took so damn long, but I had never done any work on a 3.1 before. got to admit though, putting it back together the second time barely took 15 minutes

I guess yesterday got me in a fixing mood...when i was under the buick I got to see where the a/c drain thingy is...I've been having a problem on my GTP when i turn on the a/c for more then a few minutes i would get a puddle on the pass. floor cuz it wasnt draining properly(great design from gm...lets put the a/c condensor in the cabin so anywayz what I had to do was remove the drain thing & clean it out & open the hole a tad...drove around for 30 mins with the a/c on with not a drop so it looks like thats fixed as well woo hoo I finally can use my a/c again without fear of having to bust out the shami when im done driving

On the 3.1's the intake gaskets actually double as the push rod guide plates... Also I had a customer with the same a/c problem except he didnt shut the a/c off and the puddle became a small pond on the pass floor. Duh Duh Duh!!!!
