This really burns my a$$
It's been a while since I've really taken the effort to keep my tires inflated to recommended levels in my DD, but since I haven't had an oil change in a while where they check that I've noticed my front tires looking a little low. So I did the normal thing and went to a gas station. Hmmmm, now it seems they charge you anywhere from .50 to .75 cents for F-ing AIR. Ok, I guess you aren't A$$ raping me enough for gas that you bought at 1.99 a gallon and are now selling at 2.39 a gallon you have to charge me for an air compressor to inflate my tires. SHELL even has the balls to say Free Air for our customers. Well, at .10 cents more per gallon I might as well just pay and not get gas cause that's cheaper.
What a bunch of scumbags. I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore.

The shell by us is normally cheaper, and we just get gas and then the air there.

you prolly have an old basketball pump around or a friend with a compressor if it really bothers you that much. lol
so in a cash based society you are surprised that people rip each other off? come on man, it's not like they need to charge you that much to make a profit. they jsut know you are beat into paying it so they might as well.
and before anyone goes off on that whole misguided imported oil jacking up prices crap just think about if they would take any less money for locally produced oil.
hell, they proved they don't care about saving the consumer anything when they save on production costs. jsut look at how the prices went up when they added methanol to the fuel when it is cheaper to prduce than fossil fuels. the double wammy is that it lowers your fuel mileage too, leaving you screwed into buying even more gas.

it is redicilous to have to pay for air. but thats what this worlds become!!!
if i need air in my bicycle tire i just hang around the air pump and wait for someone to leave some time on their "air purchase" then i pick up the hose and fill my tires.

you hang around the air pump all day instead of just getting a bike pump and pumping it 30 times?

I break out the hand pump to top off the tires. I'm not paying for compressed air!

Try the straw method it works
I just use a straw to blow air into the tire. Takes about 4-5 days
Seriously though if you do any business with your mechanic or a dealer usually they will let you air up the tires if you ask them. I do it a lot the worst is that they will say is no
I do agree that everyone is paying for services that they really should not be paying for.

30 gallon compressor in the garage is always full, and the gas station around the corner has free air.....set either way.

The Exxon in Rumson, is one of the only places around here that has free air.
He better since his is usually a good 25+ cents higher than anyone else.
