305 TPI clogged CAT?

just got another camaro today. its an 89 iroc 305 tpi 700r4 auto. It seems really bogged down. I can tell its the original cat, the muffler and pipe look newer. When going into 3rd, its almost as if it were stick, and you go into 4th going 20mph, bogged down! Im pretty sure its the cat. Weird thing is that when its out of gear, it revs pretty quickly and seems to breathe well. timing is correct, plugs newer-correct gap and wires look newer. Any other suggestions? maybe fuel filter too.

to find out if its your cat, un bolt the exhaust before it enters the cat, and if your condition goes away, then I would say that your problem. A fuel filter is definitely a good idea to replace a it is cheap anyway. A full tuneup couldnt hurt either.
